NUTTYS! NUTTYS! The siren song of the nutcracker vendor who roam the beaches of New York City shilling boozy bootleg cocktails to thirsty beachgoers.

In this slice-of-life indie drama, writer/director Joel Alfonso Vargas invites us into the life of one such punch hustler, who's determined to build a beach beverage empire for his family and his (pregnant) (underage) girlfriend.

Thank you to everyone who came out for our garden screening of PRINCE: SIGN ☮️ THE TIMES at the Chrysler Museum & Glass Studio, and shout out to the Thanks For Listening crew and DJ Dylan for braving the blazing sun to set the stage for a such a cool night (cool like cool, not cool, because it was not cool).

We're back outside on August 6 with Charlie Ahearn 's forever fresh hip hop classic WILD STYLE, complete with preshow block party set from the legendary Notorious DJ Bee’s IG and a Freshtopia VA pop-up with some more surprises to boot. 🚃🎤🫟

This July, as the nation celebrates 250 years of American vulgarity, Film Break Society marks the occasion with PINK FLAMINGOS, the ultimate pornographic provocation from our nation’s patron saint of sleaze: John Waters.

Proceeds benefit Film Break Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to big screen presentations of new independents and restorations.

Film Break Society fills the summer breeze with the riffs, rhythms, and vibrations of Prince with an outdoor screening of PRINCE: SIGN ‘O’ THE TIMES nestled against The Chrysler Museum of Art in Mary’s Garden.

A one-of-a-kind concoction of avant-politico-pop, hip-hop, funk, rock, and R&B, SIGN ‘O’ THE TIMES shows off Prince in his absolute prime, a super-genius fully at the controls and tearing them to shreds. Directed by Prince (naturally), the film features The Purple One performing alongside a band of absolute killers (Sheila E. on drums) ripping through hits from the 1987 multi-platinum album of the same name.

Virginia Beach’s THANKS FOR LISTENING RECORDS sets the stage for the evening, spinning and selling records before the show.
