A long-planned community justice center in Nogales just got a major boost from a T-Mobile grant.

We’re thrilled to share that SCC Justice Project has been awarded a T-Mobile Hometown Grant! This investment helps us revitalize our long‑underutilized building in historic Downtown Morley Ave into a welcoming, bilingual, community‑led legal advocacy center—a place where justice, connection, and community support come together under one roof.

This is a reminder that Nogales—with its deep history, culture, heart, and potential—is worth investing in. Thank you, T-Mobile for believing in small rural towns like ours.✨🏘️🌵⚖️✨

We are deeply grateful to the Santa Cruz Community Foundation for believing in community‑rooted solutions and for standing with us as we build a more just Santa Cruz County. Their support helps us stand with our neighbors as they navigate systems that aren’t always easy to face. Thank you wholeheartedly! 🙏🏼💛

We’re grateful for the recognition and for the inspiration behind SCCJP. The words from Chief Justice Timmer lit the spark — we’re just doing our best to keep that fire burning for our community.

Great legal project coming out of Nogales!

After seeing barriers and imbalances as a justice of the peace in his hometown, Judge Miguel Lopez decided to take on the gap in legal aid by creating the SCC Justice Project. “She was the person who inspired me ... about how do we get people more access to justice,” Lopez said, recalling an address Chief Justice Ann Timmer gave last year. “In her presentation, she talked about all these initiatives ... how we could empower local people to take on more responsibility for their community.” Check out more here: https://www.nogalesinternational.com/free-access/with-legal-clinic-miguel-lopez-seeks-to-level-justice-system/article_fe3e01ee-4f26-4540-9ea4-6eb69d1e2113.html
