Great opportunity for our youth!

12/30/2025

We wanted to thank everyone who made the Bisbee Delivering Smiles Campaign a reality! Your collective generosity turned a simple idea into a joyous celebration for our seniors, and we are deeply grateful for the dedication of volunteers like Debbie Spivey and Janice Stillhard, whose year‑after‑year commitment speaks volumes about their investment in our community, as well as Rosy Mendoza, whose enthusiasm brightened every Care Bag we packed, and Michael Chalker, whose steadfast support helped us provide a sweet treat for our Bisbee seniors.
We also owe a heartfelt thank you to Senator Rosanna Gabaldon for her generous donation that made the event possible and demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her constituents, and to Carol Loy and the entire Bisbee Senior Center for opening your doors and providing a warm, welcoming space that turned a venue into a home for holiday cheer.
Hosting this event in Bisbee was especially important because it gave our seniors, many of whom often go unnoticed during the holidays, a chance to feel truly appreciated, surrounded by friends, a brunch, and the “Care Bags” that reminded them they are valued members of our community. The hugs and grateful smiles we witnessed will stay with us long after the decorations are put away, and they are a testament to the strong, enduring partnership that has grown over more than a decade, a partnership that proves compassion, once sparked, can become a lasting flame.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making this holiday season brighter for Bisbee’s seniors and for continuing to stand with us as we look forward to next year’s celebration.

On behalf of Making Connections 4U, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible support and partnership. This has made the Douglas Delivering Smiles Campaign 2025 a resounding success. Thanks to your generosity, collaboration, and commitment, we brought holiday cheer, warmth, and hope to dozens of seniors in our community.
Held on Friday, December 12th at the Douglas ARC, the event was truly special, filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments as seniors gathered to celebrate the season. The highlight of the day was the distribution of Care Bags, lovingly packed with gloves, scarves, socks, blankets, cookies, and treats. With the help of our volunteers, we also delivered boxes to homebound seniors, ensuring no one was left out of the celebration.
We are deeply grateful to our amazing partners: Ana Samaniego, Amistades, Al’s Pools, Black Crown Entertainment, Safeway, the City of Douglas, Chatita’s Steakhouse, JCPenney, Chiricahua Community Health Center, Care Flowers Forever, and our gracious hosts at Douglas ARC, for helping make this event possible. Special thanks to Rosy Mendoza, Alba Pacheco, and the Nueva Creación Women’s Support Group for the beautiful handmade scarves and beanies; Diana Pacheco and the Faras Elementary students for their touching holiday cards. Chatita’s Steakhouse for donating cakes for our seniors. Javier Fimbres and the Douglas Area Food Bank volunteers for their time and dedication, and Ralph Robles for filling the room with music and joy.
As a volunteer and board member, Ana Samaniego so perfectly said, “Seeing the smiles on our seniors’ faces makes every bit of planning worthwhile." Many of them have given so much to this community over the years. This was our way of showing them that they are remembered, valued, and deeply appreciated.”
Your support continues to make a real difference, not only through donations but through kindness and compassion that define our community. We are so proud to work alongside each of you and look forward to continuing our partnership to make an even greater impact in the year ahead.
With heartfelt thanks,
