🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who answered the call when our nation needed them most.

Twenty-five years have passed, but we have not forgotten.

We remember where we were.
We remember the shock and heartbreak.
We remember the heroes running toward danger while others were running away.

And we remember the courage of the passengers and crew aboard United Airlines Flight 93.

After learning that other hijacked aircraft had been used to attack our nation, a group of passengers made the decision to fight back. Among them was Todd Beamer, whose final words before joining the effort to retake the aircraft became a lasting symbol of American courage:

🇺🇸 “Are you guys ready? Okay. Let’s roll.”

Those Americans knew what they were facing, yet they acted anyway. Flight 93 went down near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, before it could reach its intended target. Their courage undoubtedly saved other lives that morning.

We also remember how, in the days following September 11, Americans stood together. We weren’t divided by politics, backgrounds, or differences. We were simply Americans.

For those who have worn the uniform, September 11 carries another meaning. We remember the generations of American men and women who answered the call to serve in the years that followed—and especially those who never made it home.

Today, American Legion Post 45 asks our community to take a moment to remember the fallen, honor the heroes, and keep their families in our thoughts and prayers.

May we never forget their names.
May we never forget their courage.
May we never forget their sacrifice.
And may we never forget what it means to stand together as Americans.

❤️🇺🇸 A VERY SPECIAL THANK-YOU 🇺🇸❤️

First, please forgive the late post. It was a very long day, with a tremendous amount of work and very little time to bring everything together—but our community made it happen.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who came together to support our Community Hog Roast. A special thank-you to Blue Smoke BBQ, Alaina Shonkwiler, Mark Hall, and the many volunteers, donors, musicians, businesses, and community members who gave their time, talents, supplies, and financial support.

There are far too many people to mention individually, so please forgive us if we missed your name. Know that every contribution mattered and was deeply appreciated.

Most importantly, because of your generosity, we raised approximately $6,500 to help flood victims in our community!

We could never have accomplished this by ourselves. We owe every one of you our deepest gratitude.

This is what the American Legion is about. This is what our veterans are about. And this is what our community is about—coming together and taking care of our neighbors when they need us most.

From all of us at American Legion Post 45, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are incredibly proud and grateful to be part of this community. ❤️🇺🇸

🐷🔥 HERE IT IS, EVERYONE—OUR LABOR DAY COMMUNITY HOG ROAST! 🔥🐷

Join us this Labor Day, Monday, September 7, from 11:00 AM–8:00 PM at:

🎸 Live music begins at noon, with bands scheduled throughout the day!

Anyone displaced by the recent flooding is invited to eat free. For everyone else, meals are available for a suggested donation of $15 per plate.

❤️ Every dollar raised will be donated to help members of our community who were displaced by the flooding.

We’ll also be accepting donations of:

🧼 Personal-hygiene products
🧻 Household necessities
❤️ Monetary donations—and anything else that may help!

🇺🇸 POST 45 NEEDS YOUR HELP — LABOR DAY COMMUNITY PIG ROAST 🇺🇸

American Legion Post 45 is asking our members, friends, local businesses, and the entire community to help us pull together something special.

On Labor Day Monday, we are partnering with Blue Smoke BBQ and Building a Refuge to host a COMMUNITY PIG ROAST at Post 45 from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to the Noblesville Township Trustee’s Office to help local families and individuals who are struggling and in need of assistance.

There will be NO SET PRICE for the meal.

If you can donate $5, $10, $20 or more for your meal, every dollar will help someone right here in our community.

And if you’re one of the many families affected by the recent flooding and money is tight…

We are preparing enough food to feed approximately 325 PEOPLE, and we want to turn this into a day where our community can come together after everything we’ve been through.

🚨 IMPORTANT FLOOD ASSISTANCE INFORMATION — UP TO $5,000 AVAILABLE 🚨

If you or someone you know was affected by the recent flooding and severe weather, please share this information.

Governor Mike Braun and the State of Indiana have activated the State Disaster Relief Fund, which may provide eligible Hoosiers with up to $5,000 in emergency financial assistance following the August 11 severe weather and flooding.

This assistance may help with uninsured losses at your primary residence, including:

🏠 Certain necessary home repairs
🛋️ Essential furniture and household items
🧊 Essential appliances
🧹 Debris removal
🩺 Medical devices
🧰 Essential tools
🚗 Essential transportation needs

📞 ALSO REPORT YOUR DAMAGE TO 211

Hamilton County is specifically included in the counties being asked to report storm and flood damage through Indiana 211.

Reporting your damage through 211 is extremely important. It helps the State document the extent of the disaster and determine what additional state and federal assistance our community may qualify for.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: This is not an automatic $5,000 payment. Assistance is up to $5,000, eligibility requirements apply, and the State will determine the amount of assistance. The program generally covers eligible uninsured damages to your primary residence.

📸 DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Take pictures and video of flood damage, save receipts, make a list of damaged property, and keep copies of insurance correspondence.

🇺🇸 PLEASE SHARE THIS POST. There are people in our community who may qualify for help and simply don’t know this assistance is available.

🇺🇸 POST 45 COMMUNITY UPDATE — OPEN AT NOON TODAY 🇺🇸

American Legion Post 45 will reopen at NOON today and will once again be available for anyone in our community who needs a little help or simply a safe place to go.

If you’re dealing with flooding, power outages, displacement, or just need somewhere to get away from everything for a while — please stop by.

💧 We have plenty of bottled water
📦 Supplies available for those who need them
🍔🌭 We’ll have the grill going
🔋 A place to charge your phones and devices
🏠 And most importantly, a safe, dry place for you and yours

You do not need to be a veteran or a member of the Post. If you need us, our doors are open.

Once again, a tremendous THANK YOU to everyone who has donated supplies, volunteered their time, checked on neighbors, and stepped up to help our community through this.

⚠️ Please continue to use good judgment when traveling. Conditions may still be hazardous in some areas. Never drive through standing water or around barricades.
