Update: unfortunately it was decided today to humanly euthanize this sweet baby. She didn’t deserve this life she had to live.

This little guy has been rescued. It put me, aka Dad in the hot seat. But to my defense, my wife did say take your daughter to Runnings with you. Woe and behold we walk in and two kittens staring at us. I rationally and calmly explained this to my wife, that she was actually at fault for another cat in our house, and this somehow made things worse. So now the cat is sleeping with my daughter and I’m outside. This little guy has been rescued.

The abandoned kittens at the lake were adopted yesterday and the new owners shared a heart warming video from his new home.

We got a call today from Belle Fourche to take a litter of 2 week old kittens that mom doesn’t want to care for. She laid on two killing one and the other is struggling to live. They all have eye infections that were medicating and they are finding their way around a surrogate mom we’re hoping they will nurse from. Mama is caring for them thankfully but I haven’t seen them nurse yet. One of the kittens has a deformity with both its front legs, we’re unsure how it will effect its walking yet but will be consulting a vet in the future.

Correction: I weighed her again as I had the scale on the blanket and thought that might of effected the numbers and it did. She has only lost a couple ounces not a pound.

Fiona isn’t doing so great. Our vet visit today didn’t give us much of an answer and some of the words I don’t understand. What I do know is her blood test shows she is anemic, though she’s eating, drinking and gaining weight. The squishy masses on her abdomen are unclear, possible bleeding. Her skin oozing on her underside and legs is also unclear. For now they have put her on a different antibiotic and she’s set to be rechecked Tuesday. Testing was negative for fiv/felv and distemper( canine test). She is very attached to her sister and that added to her stress today but she’s back home snuggled up to her. I was told today from a resident at the location where she was found that the mother had been seen walking around the trailer park with something hanging out of her back side. I’m guessing a pr*****ed uterus. I’ve asked that they search for her and no matter what the cost we will take her in for vet care. I’m hoping that she’s found soon so we can save her.

Why and how can people be so heartless?!

Found dumped at the lake. A litter of 5 kittens was spotted hiding under a dumpster at Belle Fourche Reservoir today. Obviously dumped as the kittens are tame and in good shape. The finder caught 4 of them, the fifth keeps running to a hole. They are keeping 2 and were taking in the other 2. Both are boys and will receive vaccines and dewormer and are up for adoption.
