The Edgmont Township Historical Society is honored to have received an Annual Preservation Award for Group Achievement earlier this month at the 48th Annual Preservation Awards hosted by the Delaware County Heritage Commission.

This award reflects the dedication of our members, volunteers, and community partners who continue to work to preserve and share Edgmont Township’s history.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who makes this work possible and helps keep Edgmont’s history alive for future generations.

What a great turnout! We were thrilled to partner with White Horse Village to host Walt Cressler for two special presentations this week. More than 200 attendees joined us to explore the rich history of Edgmont’s waterways, farms, mills, and villages, and to see how geology and early settlement shaped the township we know today.

Many thanks to White Horse Village Inc. for their wonderful hospitality and to Dr. Cressler for bringing Edgmont’s history to life. We’re so appreciative of everyone who attended. It is truly encouraging to see such strong interest in preserving and understanding Edgmont’s history.

Save the date for a special Earth Day lecture at White Horse Village on April 22. Details coming soon.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Legacy of Jane Carter event last night! Congratulations to Ann and Ed Guinan, who took home the signed copy of Jane Carter’s Edgmont book in our membership raffle, and also to Arthur Strawbridge, who won the beautiful framed 1913 Map of Edgmont Township.

A special thanks to mansion tour guide, Jack Miller, and presenters Doug Humes and Keith Lockhart, who brought Edgmont’s history to life for a big audience in the ballroom. We also appreciate the Ridley Creek State Park personnel who helped make this event possible and spent their evening supporting our event.

If you liked what you saw, please consider joining the Historical Society today. We also encourage you to attend a meeting and see how you can get involved.
