What an unforgettable Miss National Peanut Festival weekend for our Miss Newton, Laney Deloney!

There is something truly special about watching someone who has worked so hard for a dream finally get the opportunity to live it. This weekend, Laney did just that, and she gave the Town of Newton so much to celebrate!

We are thrilled to recognize Laney for earning a place in the TOP 5 IN WRITTEN COMMUNICATION! This achievement is especially meaningful for a young lady who has dedicated so much of her time to promoting literacy through her community service initiative, L is For Literacy. What a beautiful reflection of her passion for reading, education, and making a difference!

But perhaps our favorite part of this weekend was simply watching Laney be Laney! That contagious smile, her genuine personality, her love for others, and the friendships she has made throughout this journey are what make her so special.

Laney, thank you for giving Newton a reason to cheer a little louder, smile a little bigger, and celebrate a whole lot! We hope you look back on this weekend with the same pride and happiness that we felt watching you.

The Miss National Peanut Festival stage was lucky to have you, and the Town of Newton is even luckier to call you ours!

With love and pride,
The Newton Pageant Association & Town of Newton

It's peanut week for our Miss Newton 2026, Laney Deloney!

Some queens wear a crown, but the most remarkable ones use that crown to make a difference. Our Miss Newton, Laney Deloney, has done exactly that!

As Laney prepares to take the stage at the Miss National Peanut Festival Pageant, the Newton Pageant Association and the Town of Newton could not be prouder of the young woman she is and the incredible impact she has made on our community.

Through her community service initiative, L is For Literacy, Laney has turned her own childhood struggles with reading into a mission to help others. What began as a desire to share her love of books has grown into something truly extraordinary. With more than 2,000 books donated, countless classroom visits, storytimes, reading activities, and community partnerships, Laney has worked tirelessly to place books into the hands of children and inspire a lifelong love of reading. But Laney's impact cannot be measured in books alone. It is found in the smiles of children receiving a new book, the confidence of a struggling reader, and the countless little lives she has touched along the way.

Laney's journey to this moment has not been an easy one. She has faced setbacks, overcome obstacles, and patiently waited for the opportunity to represent a community she loves so dearly. Through it all, she has demonstrated perseverance, grace, humility, and an unwavering heart for service.

Laney, you have already given Newton something far greater than a crown. You have given our community a legacy of kindness, service, and a reminder that one person with a willing heart can make an extraordinary difference.

As you step onto that Peanut stage, know that an entire town is standing behind you, cheering you on, and celebrating everything you have accomplished. We hope you see yourself the way we see you: a beautiful, intelligent, compassionate young woman who represents the very best of Newton.

May God guide your steps, calm your heart, and allow your light to shine brighter than ever before.

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. — Proverbs 31:25
