Boston Jewish Film

🎬 We’re opening The 38th Annual Boston Jewish Film Festival with “The Soundman”— a moving WWII-era drama set in 1940s Brussels.

Follow Berre, a gifted young radio apprentice, and Elza, a rising actress, as they find hope, connection, and escape within the walls of the famed Flagey Building, even as the world outside grows darker. With breathtaking visuals and immersive soundscapes, this unforgettable story explores the power of imagination in the face of adversity.

Join us for the screening, followed by a special conversation with Director Frank Van Passel, moderated by Matt Sienkiewicz, Professor of Communication and International Studies at Boston College.

As we prepare to welcome 2026, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and yours for a year filled with joy, health, and meaningful connections. Thank you for being part of our community and for your continued support of Jewish storytelling through film.

An Exciting New Chapter

We have exciting news to share. On January 1, 2026, after nearly forty years on our own, Boston Jewish Film will become part of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Boston. We are beyond thrilled with this union and with the opportunity to bring all our festivals, screenings, and special events under the JCC umbrella.

In our new home, supported by our new partner, Boston Jewish Film @ JCC will enjoy an even broader reach as we continue to celebrate the richness of the Jewish experience through film and media.

We are grateful to all our sponsors, donors, artists, and, most of all, you, our audience, for helping to make Boston Jewish Film one of the nation's top venues for Jewish film and culture. And we look forward to even greater things as we start this new chapter together.

Warm Wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year, from the Boston Jewish Film team!
