RENEWport and Salve Regina University Civic LEAD Fellows Sunshine Clark, Tiffany DaPonte, and Elodie Chery created art with teens from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County to commemorate the country's 250th birthday.

The youth artwork will be part of the RENEWport Semiquincentennial 250 Digital Archive that will be donated to the Newport Historical Society next year.

Yesterday, RENEWport visited the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center afterschool program with our three Salve Regina University Civic LEAD fellows who are under the guidance of Professor Mary Anderson.

The children, ages 5 to 10, got into the USA 250 Birthday spirit with their wonderful Semiquincentennial art!

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse spoke and answered questions at RENEWport's meeting on Friday, May 15. He urged the members and guests to get involved – it is not a time in the nation's history to sit on the sidelines.

BankNewport graciously allowed RENEWport to hold the event at its Middletown headquarters.

This weekend, RENEWport hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Party at Emmanuel Church, Newport. We are very grateful for our Pell morning greeter and library volunteers!
