Request Audition with Tapestry Singers The audition with our Music Director will check voice range, quality and music-reading skills. Our singers have a variety of backgrounds in musical training. Ability to read music is preferable, but willingness to learn your part outside of rehearsal is a must....

Tapestry Singers will be holding auditions for the fall semester during the week of August 10-14. The first rehearsal is on Monday, September 14 in preparation for the December 12 and 13 concerts. The ’Tis the Season program will include festive music of Christmas, Hanukkah, and the Winter Solstice, performed in the unparalleled acoustics of the Damariscotta Baptist Church. Tapestry Singers has a mix of professional and highly skilled amateur singers who perform classical choral music, championing the work of living composers. The audition includes checking vocal range and music reading skills. Tapestry Singers’ audiences have come to expect something out of the ordinary, new music to challenge their sensibilities and familiar tunes that are interestingly arranged. We had a wonderful weekend of concerts with New Inca Son, performing Ariel Ramírez's Misa Criolla. Thanks to everyone involved who helped make this happen. Tapestry Singers has wonderful patrons and advertisers!

At our concerts this weekend, Niall Lessard (President of Tapestry's board) presented Violet Holbrook with our annual Student Award for 2026. Violet started singing with Tapestry Singers in eighth grade, and just graduated from Lincoln Academy. “I’m so pleased with this semester’s Tapestry Singers! They have taken on some challenging music, singing in Spanish, Mongolian, isiZulu, and syllables based on Indian Ragas. We’re teaming up with New Inca Son, ambassadors of Andean folk music from Boston for Ariel Ramírez’s Misa Criolla. Our guest koto player, Sarah Oeste, and Sean Fleming have collaborated to embellish the accompaniments for the Japanese folksong arrangements by Bob Chilcott.
