Wayside Food Bank

Wayside Food Bank Wayside Food Bank provides groceries to those who are in need of food assistance. The pantry is operated in partnership with neighboring Cobb Neck churches.

We are located at Holy Ghost Church and provide food monthly on the 3rd Saturday from 10am-12pm.

We were thrilled to have Newburg Volunteer Fire Department at our distribution day last Saturday. They assisted our clients in getting free smoke alarms and handed out cool free stuff. They also generously presented us with a huge check (litetally)!!!! We are so lucky to have such a supportive community!!!

This past Saturday Wayside Food Bank served 27 families which included 51 adults, 4 teens and 14 children for a total of 65 people served.

Please let anyone who relies on the food bank know we will begin new hours of distribution starting in July. We will distribute food from 9-11am on July 18th.

We are open next Saturday from 10 to noon distributing food to any neighbors who are in need. If you are struggling with the high cost of food, please stop by. We are here to help any and all in the Cobb Neck vicinity.

On Saturday we served 31 families consisting of 56 adults, 4 teens and 2 children. We served 62 souls in total. Thanks to our loyal volunteers!!!!

Just to let everyone know, the funeral of a very beloved member of our community is at 11am this Saturday. In anticipation of large crowds, we will begin serving at 9am.

On Saturday, April 18, WFB served 20 families; which consisted of 37 adults and 2 children; for a total of 39 individuals served.

Southern Maryland Food Bank provided extra frozen meats including chicken tenders, breasts, thighs and drumsticks, catfish and tilapia fillets and beef. Our clients were very appreciative for the extra treats. We also were able to provide a dozen fresh eggs from Birch Farms to each family. And Carol Ann Robey Mills provided dog and cat food.

Thanks to our ALL of our faithful volunteers who helped make stocking and distribution run smoothly. It was a beautiful day and we still had plenty of help.
