As veterans—and as families of veterans—we know what it’s like to leave service and still need a mission. We also know how powerful it is when you’re given the space and support to create something of your own. No franchises. No corporate strings. Just real tools, structure, and opportunities for veterans, spouses, and their kids to build something with purpose—on their own terms. We offer a platform for launching field units, mentoring youth, building gear, and creating impact—together. If you’ve served, or lived alongside someone who has, you belong here. I know I haven’t posted on here in quite a while, but today felt like the right time to check back in because it’s such a massive milestone. Today is officially my last day in the Navy and the end of my internship.

To be honest, I’ve felt "off" all day. I’ve been anticipating this date for so long, but saying goodbye to the internship I loved and the amazing women who trained and mentored me for the last few months was harder than I expected. As much as I’ve looked forward to this, the "unknown" of the civilian world definitely started to feel heavy the second I clocked out.

Nate noticed I was struggling before I even said a word. Without calling me out on my complicated emotions, he simply suggested we take the kids for a hike and bike ride through the Dragon Trail. It was exactly what I needed. We laughed, the kids played, and the woods helped clear the worry and fear out of my head.

One of the best things about having the support of someone who has already dealt with these transition emotions is that he just gets it. He knows how the excitement and the fear hit all at once. I am so grateful for his quiet support while I navigate these turbulent emotions.

I’m happy to be out and excited to explore my options in the civilian world, but I am so relieved to have him here helping me through it. It’s good to be home, and I’m ready for whatever comes next.
