Have you ever came across a vehicle in a parking lot of a local business that is running with the drivers side door open and not a soul around in the early morning hours? Craig and Barbara Bellis found themselves in that situation last night while out on patrol.

Have you ever listened to à law enforcement officer question if a person has any weapons and they respond that they have a sword in the back seat? That too happened last night while these two were out.

We sure do appreciate WCSO for their quick response and professionalism. Real heros live among us folks.

Let’s be good neighbors.

The Newark Citizens Patrol was represented by Scott Davis and Lonnie VanSchuyver last night.

They reported that they helped one our local businesses with an issue they discovered during the early morning hours. We love supporting our local businesses.

Also, they came across something of a throwback to days long ago. In the Estes Addition they found a group on young people laying out in the street looking at the stars. Something Scott and Lonnie both did as kids. We told them to stay together and keep an eye on each other. What memories!

Let’s be good neighbors.

We are super proud of our patrol team Craig and Barbara Bellis. They were out this weekend when they came across our fantastic SO taking care of business on Burke. While the professionals were busy these two looked after the rest of the area. Later it was clear that the deputies finished up so our team ended their patrol.

We are so fortunate to be partnering with the WCSO. These folks are simple the best.

Thanks guys!

Last night Scott Davis and Lonnie VanSchuyver got in a patrol that had to be cut short at 1:45a due to the rain moving in. Due to turkey season and Scott being on a cruise these two have not patrolled together for nearly a month.

The SO was engaged on a small issue at the park across from the fire hall. It’s always good for our professional law enforcement partners to take care of things if we need some support. As usual, they responded quickly and all is good.

Outside of that it was a quiet night.

Thanks guys!

Let’s be good neighbors.

Last night Scott Davis teamed up with Lonnie VanSchuyver for the Newark Citizens Patrol. Turkey season has kept these two from teaming up but with the weather an opportunity popped up.

They did come across a scrapper in the 2am time frame on the property across from Wise and Rodgers. This was turned over to our professional sheriff office to sort out. Other than that it was just about nice night out on the town.

Thanks guys!

Let’s be good neighbors.

As the temps rise, it’s not uncommon for us to see a rise in theft. The use of some common sense measures can help all of us.

1) Lock it up. Close and lock gates, garages, shops, car doors, etc.
2) Keep valuables out of sight. Don’t leave valuables out in the open.
3) Leave the lights on. With LED technology the cost to leave lights on is very low.

Working together we can make a big difference!

Let’s be good neighbors.
