I was about three years when I was sent to my grandmother in small village to live with her. There was no school at this village. Children from this village walked two miles one way five days a week to nearby school . My uncle fought the educational council of the district to bring school to that village when he realized the need. The district sent one teacher that time and very few of us started the school when l was about seven years old. In fact my grandmother will not allowed me to attend the school. according to her when girls seek education, they don’t usually get married and have kids and she wanted me to have kids. The first teacher who came to teach there saw me and asked whose child I was and why I was not in school. He explained to my grandmother that it will be to my advantage to meet a responsible man instead in future if I have education,so she agreed to send me. After three years in theat school my father sent for me to a bigger town with more advanced schools. So that school was the root of my education. I always remember those early years of my life in that school. Recently I visited this village and saw that not much have changed after fifty years , in terms of the facilities and learning supplies even though the village is now a big town with many people and more children. I said it to myself that if it takes a village to raise a child then I must do my part. I donated some books school supplies and few school chairs and tables to the first grades and realized that the school needs major projects such as classrooms, water, bathroom and many more needed. So I am asking you to help me to reach my goal of helping the children in this village to have more decent environment to study.
