Although we always say, and will continue to say Alyssa is our Easter child, she actually was born in the early morning hours on the Monday immediately following Easter Sunday, the holy day The Lord is Risen! Now over a year since her horrific medical emergency, her birth reinforces the belief for me, as she died on April 2nd 2025 and was brought back to life, a miracle in itself, but nothing says she can't overcome all of her current condition. I can tell you the pain is real. Everyday I struggle to find a medication or something that will fix her brain immediately and get the old Alyssa back. Unfortunately in her case, it's not that simple. It's taken me over a year to realize there is only one healer and it's not me.
I was never a fan of the word hope. Hope is like hit or miss something. For me I personally choose the words faith, trust and believe. In Alyssa's case that's what it's all about. Having the faith and trust in God as he is the only true healer. This is His plan and all I, and you if you choose, is to just believe. I will continue to advocate nonstop, however it's God's plan and accepting this brings me today a sense of calmness and comfort knowing I just need to continue to believe no matter how hard it is. All my anxious and worries I forward to Him. Miracles happen everyday. Alyssa is already a living miracle in God's hands and I have the faith, trust and believe she will overcome. He did it once for her and for me, I just need to stay on the path and believe. I pray you do too.

Our prayers are being answered. The Pulmonologist has begun to wean her off the ventilator. A major step! Last year Alyssa was on a trach collar twice and completely off the ventilator machine. She can do this, just takes time. Please continue to send prayers. It's still a long journey, but there is no rush.
