🎉 Today, May 14, we celebrate a powerful milestone for The Shikuri Project! 🎉

One full year of continuous clinics completed for our inaugural cohort of children in Homa Bay County, Kenya—and the results have been spectacular.

We proudly congratulate our patients, caregivers, community health workers, medical partners, and generous donors whose commitment made this possible.

Please see details and photos in the attached news release from Homa bay County…. Because of you:

❤️ Children once at high risk are now thriving

đź’Š Medication adherence exceeds 95%

🏥 Hospitalizations and pain crises have dramatically declined

👩‍👧 Caregivers are more empowered and informed

🤝 Community health workers have ensured no child is left behind

This is more than a program milestone—it is proof that continuous, structured, community-embedded care saves lives.

To every donor who believed…

To every caregiver who persevered…

To every health worker who walked village paths…

To every child who showed courage…

THANK YOU.

Together, we are transforming survival into hope, health, and future.

Join us in celebrating the launch of the first ever clinic devoted to managing the care of children under 5 with sickle-cell Disease in Ndhiwa, Western Kenya. In Ndhiwa, 70 percent of children under 5 years old are estimated by WHO to perish before their fifth birthday due to the untreated, life straightening complications of sickle cell disease. The Shikuri project financed the first of a series of Quarterly Clinics and the diagnosis of residents. With diagnosis, people with sickle cell disease will be counted in data gathering on the national burden of disease and generate a demand for medical
Therapies.
