EMERGENCY Rescue.

Introducing Suzy. She is a frail, extraordinarily friendly female tabby that showed up at a residential home after being hit by a car or some other traumatic injury. She is tired, rail thin, has severe ear infections (the ear canals are closed) and can barely walk but she is loving, easy going and was a self-rescue. She entered the home on her own. And when our volunteer got there, she opened up her transfer trap and Suzy walked right in. Yes folks, Suzy is a true self-rescue.

We’ve raced her to one of our partner veterinarians for X-rays, blood work and other diagnostics. She also needs treatment for her badly infected ears and a diagnosis for her horrible weight loss. But through all of this she leans in for head rubs, purrs uncontrollably and is a gentle sweet soul. We want to save precious Suzy.

Once we have answers to her conditions we will know how to proceed. In the meantime, Suzy will need a foster to help her land safely. She can never return to the streets. If you can’t foster please help us get her X-rays, pain medications, and treatment for her severely infected ears and fractured leg. You can make a charitable contribution right on this post.

Thank you for loving her enough to help Suzy.

🖤 Gotham’s tiniest rogues are looking for their forever homes 🖤

✨ Poison Ivy — Female, 6 months
Affectionate, confident, and absolutely knows she’s the queen of the room. This little alpha loves to play, cuddle, and roll around with her catnip toys before cashing in her payment of Churu treats. 🌿

🌙 Clay-Face — Male, 6 months
Shy at first, but underneath is the sweetest little soul. He loves following other cats around like their tiny shadow. By night? His inner panther awakens as he fiercely “hunts” his bird toys. 🐈‍⬛

🃏 Two-Face — Male, 6 months
A rough-and-tumble boy with alpha energy in the making. He may not be the cuddliest, but he’ll happily wrestle toys (and his brother) for hours. Full of personality and playful chaos. ⚡️

These babies are full of love, mischief, and personality — and they’re ready for a family to call their own. 🏡

Please DM for adoption inquiries, applications, or to meet them. Sharing helps more than you know. 🖤🐾

Cheeto has been SAVED! Little Wanderers to the rescue!!

This poor cat has been living in a parking garage in the Bronx for an unknown period of time. He’s dirty, sad and was left with a note stating he had kidney disease with only “2 to 3 weeks to live.” Scroll for photo of note. Our team rescued him with a huge thank you to Jen (who can trap anything)!.

Cheeto went to our vet right away and the veterinary staff wasted no time getting right to work. He is a un-neutered FIV positive male with horrendous periodontal disease and he will need a full mouth extraction soon. He is severely anemic but we are hopeful that his anemia will improve once all the fleas are off of him. He has mild kidney disease. More tests come back in 24 hours which will give us a better picture. He has a grade 3 heart murmur which means he’ll need an echocardiogram soon.

He’s a mess but nowhere near death. Many things were done to help Cheeto on his way. He was safely sedated and was neutered, microchipped, vaccinated. He was bathed, given lots of medications including antibiotics, fluids, pain control medications, flea and tick medicine and he’s admitted to the hospital for monitoring. He’s finally safe and getting the treatment he needs.

We even found a foster for him! He’ll be going there soon. Welcome to the Little Wanderers family Cheeto. You are beautiful and loved and you did not die a slow miserable death in a dirty parking garage waiting for help to help to magically come! No sir, your magic came! Now all we need is some magical money to help us defray his bill! Help Cheeto! Make your oatmeal, soy milk chocolate lattes at home this morning and help Cheeto’s miracle become a reality. All contributions are fully tax deductible.

IMAGINE losing everything you own in a fire. Including your beloved dog.

But maybe, just maybe! Your beloved turtle is still alive, in the middle of all the heartache and after losing everything else. The hope has been burning for over a week.

Well! Catalina the turtle has been reunited with her family after surviving the fire that took their beloved dog. In the middle of devastating loss, we are grateful one more family member made it out alive.

AMC said her back leg was painful, and she got pain medication and fluids.

And since our last post, Miss Kitty has officially been reunited with her owner, Jose. After initially being told his temporary housing would not allow pets, permission was granted for Miss Kitty to stay with him until they move into their permanent apartment next month — a home where they will both finally be safe together.

At the same time, the work is not over.

We are continuing to work alongside other wonderful rescuers and animal advocates and as well of course, municipal ACC, to search for any animals who may still be inside the building. It's truly a group effort. It has been an emotional and difficult process, but we are not giving up hope.

And for many families, this effort is also about closure. People deserve answers about the animals they love. Every pet matters. Every family matters.

Thank you to everyone continuing to support, advocate, and stand with these families during an unimaginable time.

Feral Cats need love too!

Introducing Cain. This poor cat has been wandering around the Bronx streets lurking in corners for food and eating scraps out of the local bodegas trash cans. He’s bi-lingual! ¡Soy salvaje y también necesito amor!

Poor Cain. He’s got a huge wound on his neck, bad teeth, is in pain, ear mites, p***y discharge coming from his wound BUT the silver lining is he is FeLV/FIV negative and still intact so he dodged a very big bullet. We want to help him. He’s a big black burly guy who really needs to retire. And he’s badly injured, not well, and needs a break.

Cain is at one of our veterinary partners right now. He’s sedated, his blood work is all within normal limits and he’s getting neutered, microchipped, vaccinated safely and other treatments. He can stay at the vet only for two nights so Cain needs a foster by Friday evening 5/15/26. He will need to stay in a crate while he convalesces. And during that time you can help him feel more comfortable and enjoy the safe, good life indoors. We travel out of state for A(+) foster homes. Little Wanderers provides all vetting, Foster’s cover regular supplies. To help Cain on his journey, please direct message us. He really needs a life-line.

If you can’t foster, please consider a charitable contribution to help us defray his vetting. He’s a very promising cat.

Thank you! Gracias Amigas.

Instead of Mothers Day mimosas, we got little newborns!

Imagine our surprise when Sunday Mothers Day came (May 10, 2026) and we thought we were waking up to brunch and instead we got baby kittens! And that’s just how it goes sometimes. Alley, a young shy cat was trapped for a TNR project. She was slated to go to the ASPCA for full vetting and spay on Monday, the day after Mothers Day but that all changed when she gave birth to five live kittens in a trap! The sixth one perished inside her placenta unfortunately.

So Alley is no longer a TNR and instead is looking for a foster for herself and her new family. It’s pretty easy to foster a mom and kittens. Alley just needs a big play tent and good food and a little space to nurse safely since they’re literately newborns. Usually moms do all the work and you have to take good care of mom!

Alley has no place to go. She’s stuck in a garage in a carrier until we can find a foster home. Little Wanderers will cover all vetting. Fosters cover supplies. Alley is shy but not aggressive at all. She will hopefully come around quickly to adjust to indoor life. Her babies wanted to come into this world. They just need a foster home.

So mimosas or not, our Mothers Day rescue family need a FOSTER. Send us a direct message to apply with your number and email. Please complete a foster application found in our linktree in our bio.

Mother’s Day mimosas and kittens!

You can’t make this up..it’s so heartbreaking that we are crying as we write this. Cheeto and his grey tabby friend Brianna, need a foster. But Cheeto must be first! Here’s his story.

Cheeto, a friendly house cat with kidney disease, was dumped at a Bronx garage. They left a note that read “ Cheeto is slowly dying of kidney disease. He maybe has 2-3 weeks left.” And apparently he’s only eating baby food. What’s wrong with this picture? Everything! Cheeto must have belonged at one point to a either a worker at the garage or someone who parks their car there. And we aren’t sure how the author of the note (scroll for slide) would know that he only has “2-3 weeks left.” And baby food is not an appropriate food for a cat with kidney disease. He likely has dental issues causing the problem. So, what’s an overwhelmed rescue group supposed to do? Rescue of course.

We must have a foster to put Cheeto and Brianna. It’s an emergency! As long Cheeto isn’t in kidney failure a good diet and medications and supportive care is what he needs. Little Wanderers covers medical. Fosters cover litter, food and treats.

Can you help poor Cheeto? Please direct message us right away. He’s literally dying to get out of this garage.

Happy Mothers Day everyone! Here's a nice story for one of the nicest days ever-

We enjoy helping others who need trapping help and have a committed idea in mind of who they need to trap.

In this situation Lisa V. was trying to trap Cleo for the last 6 months or so, but she was very, very trap savvy, as she had been trapped already 2 times before!

So she would just frustratingly tease everyone by going around the trap until we suggested to move the food into the trap deeper and deeper until it was all the way in the back- while the trap was rigged not to close. After about 2 weeks this among other little tidbits of advice - and Voila! Finally, Cleo was trapped and in a forever home with Lisa! Where forever means just that- forever.

Thank you also to Esther and Odessa, as Lisa V. rightly says- a great group of dedicated women! ❤️❤️♥️

Rescued!

Catalina, a red eared slider turtle was rescued by some fabulous city workers with the help of a small but mighty army of community activists and animal lovers!

Catalina has been without food or water for 2 1/2 weeks trapped inside a condemned building after a deadly fire killed two tenants and left the rest running for their lives. Numerous animals were left behind. Slowly but surely they are being rescued-our voices were heard! The powers that be finally did something!

Catalina was rushed to the emergency hospital this morning for an examination and treatment by the avian and exotics department at the Animal Medicsl Center. Catalina needs a full body xray as her back left hind foot is abnormal. Otherwise her lungs are clear and she will receive some subcutaneous fluids and pain medication, We are so happy we were able to help Catalina. She has been saved forever and will be reunited with her family and live happily ever after.

If you’d like to help us defray Catalina’s treatment please make a charitable contribution to this fundraiser so we can pay her bill!

What a happy ending. The power of community must not be underestimated. It really does take a village.

The power of community action must not be underestimated.

Two weeks ago a deadly fire broke out in a residential building in the Belmont section of the Bronx. Two tenants perished, the rest were evacuated to safety. But countess pets remained inside the building with no help from governmental agencies. Tenants were caught in red tape with no answers on their live animals trapped inside the condemned building. Little Wanderers received numerous please for help. So with friends and colleagues a demonstration was organized to help bring light to the problem.

Early this morning workers from the Animal Care Centers of NYC arrived on the scene and with authority from the Department of Buildings one cat was rescued, There were some that haven’t made it out alive including a dead dog that came out in a card board box by a good worker. The orange tabby female that was rescued today is owned by a tenant in the building who is correct it in temporary housing that doesn’t allow animals. She needs a foster. She was taken to Animal Care Centers and we’d like to help her owner but she needs a foster. If you can help please direct message us.

Join us this morning to demand accountability from NYC’s governmental agencies before it’s too late.

Countless animals are trapped inside a condemned building after a fire broke out in the Belmont section of the Bronx almost two weeks ago. Despite constant requests for access, pet owners and professional rescuers have been denied access.

Little Wanderers has been helping to spearhead the rescue effort by gathering together community activists and rescue colleagues to gain access into the building and save all the animals who are still alive. But time is running out.

Join us today at 10am in front of the building and protest with us. Leaving behind live animals is criminal-NYC is better than this.

Call our rescue line at (929) 282-2271 for more information or direct message us.

No rescue. No peace.
