Our shelter cat Fluffy has arrived at his foster home. And he has been saved! Transport needed from the Bronx to Manhattan for a follow up vet visit on Wednesday 6/3/26.

Fluffy’s obesity is so serious and heartbreaking. He can only take three steps and then collapses. How did he get this way? From cheap dry food most of his life. His condition is human error. For Shame. But we won’t hold onto that. Onward and upward.

Tomorrow Fluffy needs to go to the vet. He needs A RIDE. His diabetes needs management. And he desperately needs weight loss management. Help us continue to raise money for his vetting. Because Fluffy is worth it. And he’s been saved.

If you can provide transportation please direct message us right away. We need the help.

We are proud of this accomplishment. Fluffy was deadlined by noon 6/2/26 and we saved him from euthanasia. He would not have understood why his life was being ended. He is so trusting and loving. No harm will come to him under our watch. Rest up Fluffy. Today is the beginning of your new journey.

Please help us make goal for his vetting and contribute on this fundraiser.

We did it! Fluffy has been saved because of our amazing followers who offered to foster, adopt and donate. You make the world proud.

Fluffy was deadlined by noon today (6/2/26). He’s been at-risk for a long time at the shelter. He was surrendered by his owner and we don’t know the back story. Fluffy is a 10 year old cat with diabetes and obesity. He needs insulin administration twice daily and regular veterinary visits for diabetes follow-up. Behaviorally, Fluffy is extremely affectionate and loves petting.

Fluffy will be going to a temporary foster and will have veterinary care while with Little Wanderers. He has several adoption prospects so we will be going through those applications while he stabilizes with us.

We just could not see this cat facing euthanasia because nobody wanted him. He’s an overweight love ball with diabetes! All of us have issues..but should we die because of them?! Of course not.

We appreciate all of you. Please contribute to help us make our financial goal. He still needs care.

SAVE ME!

Shelter cat Fluffy has a deadline of NOON on June 2, 2026 or he faces euthanasia. He’s currently at the hardworking NYC Animal Care Center in Queens and needs a Hail Mary. We want to save him but need your help. He needs an immediate foster or adopter.

He is 10 years old, overweight (23 pounds) and has diabetes (takes his daily injections like nothing). Should he die because of this? Certainly not. He is currently in a crate at the shelter because he was too large for the shelter cage. Tuesday is the day of reckoning.

If you can save Fluffy and foster him, please direct message us. A short term foster situation is not helpful. He needs a foster who will commit to him and see him through weight loss and stability. A straight out adoption is the most desirable. Little Wanderers covers vetting. Fosters cover supplies (food and litter).

Fluffy is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and FeLV/FIV negative. He is fine as a solo or with other cats. His BEST quality is how exceptionally friendly he is. He is truly a lap cat. If there ever was a save, Flufgy is the one.

If you can’t foster please consider a donation to cover his insulin expenses. Please share this post far and wide.

This poor cat is pregnant and living outside. She’s so friendly she’s trying to crawl into the window of a local resident. It’s heartbreaking and we don’t want her to be on the street. We are rescuing her and she will be spayed this Tuesday 6/2/26. She needs a foster by then.

Mabel is a very beloved cat. She has never lived inside, but the apartment building she lives behind has a very kind man who feeds her. He’s telling us that she’s pregnant now so he takes care of her as much as he can. But he’s on a fixed income and he has cats himself and she is too friendly to ear-tip and put back outside.

Mabel needs a foster. Mabel spends a lot of time quietly observing the people and mysteries around her building in New York City. This cat is always hanging around behind a Bronx building, watching everything that goes on, slipping in and out of view, and somehow knowing everyone’s business. Foster a buy body of your own.

Please direct message us if you can foster Mabel.

This kitten season has seen a boom like no other. In years past we’d get maybe one request a day for help catching a pregnant feral or rescuing a stray that already gave birth. Certainly that kept us busy enough. But the 2026 season has seen a significant increase in requests-sometimes 2-4 daily. If you do the math, that’s a request for easily 12 per day (with an average of one mom and three kittens per request). We’ve been trying to fill that need with critical direct front line help but it’s been wearing us very thin. And summer hadn’t even started.

This petite black mom and her three tiny newborns were rescued from a teenager who let the mama cat into his bedroom, and she ended up having the kittens under his bed (scroll for video). Stray cat mons are so clever-she pulled a part of the mattress pad down and gave birth right inside the mattress. We rescued them and they are safe with one of our rockstar fosters in New Jersey.

The family is looking for names. We’d like to stick with a mattress theme. If you have any suggestions, please drop a comment here! Mom will be named Zenobia.

Foster mom is looking for some help with supplies. If you’d like to send some, please drop us a direct message and we’ll get you a shipping address!

Kitty Kattey our senior “wobbly” cat rescued from a life of begging deep in NYC’s subway system has been adopted. This happy ever after post is long overdue!

Kitty Kattey lived with senior Joseph Ramos from the Bronx who pushes a cart filled with a menagerie of animals including a dog, cats, rabbits and birds. He accepts donations for his church. He’s been doing it for decades and many New Yorkers over the years have tried to shut him down by calling multiple government agencies, offering money, calling the news. He finally agreed to let Little Wanderers have Kitty Kattey after strong negotiations with a good volunteer who took an approach of not shaming. It worked. We also rescued Johnny Boy (but that’s a story for another day).

Kitty Kattey needed rescue badly. She’s got cerebellar hypoplasia, kidney disease, irritable bowel syndrome and cataracts. She has not had a proper diet and so her senior body has deteriorated to where she is weak and frail. She ate bird seed for snacks for most of her life. It was a very hard life for an unhealthy cat and most assuredly her physical condition deteriorated because of her treatment. Joseph isn’t a bad person, but his judgment is very bad. Even borders on inhumane. He never saw it that way so he continues to get more animals. In fact after Little Wanderers also rescued FeLV positive Johnny Boy from him, he went out and adopted another cat. What he is doing isn’t illegal but it is unethical. We tried to show him a better way but old habits die hard. We’ll continue to do our best.

In the meantime, Kitty Kattey has had a fairy tale ending. She was adopted by a veterinarian that is taking such good care of her. She has comfy beds high quality food, plenty of medicine and care and her final years will be spent filled with all the right things especially love and care.

There are many people to thank along the way and in no particular order, a huge thank you to Celestial Paws for the groom! And to Mia, Elena And all the good people who advocated, donated and helped out along the way.

Happy Ever After Kitty Kattey. Fairy tales do come true.

Introducing Pancake and her three kittens, Pickles, Pigeon and Pretzel. They were rescued yesterday from a pile of leaves in front of an apartment building in the Bronx. They need an immediate foster.

Pancake is a super friendly mom. She went for a wellness exam today and tested FIV positive and FeLV negative. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a bloodborne virus in cats that weakens the immune system, similar to HIV in humans, making them vulnerable to secondary infections, though many cats live long lives with proper care. It spreads mainly through deep bite wounds, often from fights, and is not contagious to humans or other animals through casual contact like sharing bowls. So Pancake can be fostered with other cats who are FIV negative or FIV positive.

Pancake and her three ten day old kittens cannot be returned back outside. We accept out of state Foster’s. Please send us a direct message. Little Wanderers covers vetting-Foster’s cover supplies.

Thank you for considering Pancake. Please share this post to reach as many good people as possible.
