"Musicians bring love into the air." 🥰

So says the birthday boy, MTF's founding board member Elvis Costello (he's also a rock & roll legend). His staunch support for our cause has been longstanding, filled with live performances, donated memorabilia, and PSAs like this one.

MTF's mission continues to grow thanks to EC's involvement from the jump, headlining our first-ever benefit concert at the Paramount Theatre in 2017. When others see EC in our corner, they're eager to join him in our band of supporters.

EC's catalog continues to grow, too - the 49th Anniversary edition "My Aim Is True" box set is out October 2nd 🎸

In 2024, Hilary York was unable to bend her thumb. She turned — for a second time — to MTF for help. Dr. Alton Barron removed a small benign tumor and “with great relief, I was playing guitar a week later.”

With help from supporters like you, MTF provides that relief to musicians with upper limb injuries so they can keep the music playing.

In addition to steady gigs around Austin, Hilary will keep the music playing at our Elvis Costello tribute show at Antone's on Sept 6 alongside other talented artists we’ve helped get back on stage.

Austin is about to get a dose of Texas-sized rock & roll! 🎸

Our friend and MTF artist supporter Billy F Gibbons and ZZ Top are coming to town August 22 + 23. After two nights at Moody Center ATX, 'The Big One!' tour rolls on thru mid-October.

Onstage, backstage, and via our MTF auctions, Billy has donated his valuable time, talent -- and a few guitars -- to support our mission.

We’re excited to see Billy & the band bringing their legendary sound back to Austin -- and we’re sending our best to ZZ Top drummer Frank Beard, who recently stepped away from the tour to focus on his health. Wishing Frank a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Rock on, Billy! — and thanks for helping MTF keep the music playing for all.

After rupturing a tendon in his chest, Austin musician Nick Adamo could no longer strum his guitar.

“I got a phone call from Dr. Alton Barron less than 30 minutes after HAAM referred me to MTF. He immediately put me at ease… I’d be playing guitar again a week or two after surgery. He was right.”

Nick didn’t just get back to playing — he became a key member of Team MTF, helping manage our data and outreach and performing at events to champion our cause.

We couldn’t celebrate 9 years of MTF without Nick — and we won’t! He’ll be on the bill AND leading the Elvis Costello tribute show house band on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Antone's 🎸

8.11.22: a magical night with our guys Elvis Costello and Allan Mayes celebrating "Rusty," a collaboration between lifelong friends that had begun 50 years prior, now fully realized as 'The Resurrection of Rust,' a commemoration of the lasting power of musical camaraderie.

EC would promote the new Rusty record on The Tonight Show prior to his show at Pier 17 in NYC.

After strumming a guitar for decades, Phil Hurley’s left thumb hurt constantly. The joint had slipped its mooring, drifting away from his wrist. He performed through the pain as long as he could. Then he met MTF and Dr. Alton Barron so he could keep the music playing.

Since Phil’s surgery and recovery, he’s performed all over Texas, released an EP, played some reunion shows with his awesome ‘90s-era alternative band Gi**lo Aunts — and he’ll be one of the MTF-assisted artists helping us celebrate our 9th anniversary at Antone's on Sunday, September 6 for our Elvis Costello tribute show!

We can’t wait to see Phil — and you — for a fantastic evening of music made by our founding board member Elvis Costello and played by the musicians MTF has been able to help thanks to our incredible band of supporters.
