This week in MTF history! 🌟

Jenifer Jackson becomes the first official beneficiary of our Austin-based nonprofit after Dr. Alton Barron repairs a tendon in her injured shoulder. She would return months later to have her other shoulder repaired.

“He just dropped down from heaven, and I had *two* miracles. I’m so grateful for Alton and his team and all the people who pitch in to help him grow his foundation. It gives me great hope for humanity!”

9 years later, MTF has helped dozens of artists like Jenifer keep the music playing, and we continue to provide care for professional uninsured & under-insured musicians with upper limb injuries.

October 22, 2017... this was the show that started it all, a night when Elvis Costello stepped up for MTF to headline our first-ever benefit concert at the Paramount Theatre.

Thanks to EC, and to the generous contributions of our band of supporters who filled the seats for this intimate performance, we were able to raise funds to begin our mission in earnest.

Since then, MTF has been able to assist hundreds of professional musicians who cannot afford care for shoulder, elbow, and hand injuries, with care valued at over $4 million.

EC remains one of our staunchest ambassadors, his contributions innumerable. Every benefit concert we've done is special, but this one holds a significant place in our history and our hearts ❤️

Team MTF headed into the wilderness to celebrate this year's Underwater Moonshine Fest with our friends at Wh***ey Thief Distilling Co. -- two days and nights on gorgeous Kentucky farmland, spent enjoying some awesome indie music, powerful bourbon, and the company of friends (some dogs and goats, too).

Hugs to Walter and the entire staff at Wh***ey Thief for the warm welcome, and to the folks at Underwater Sunshine Fest for including us in this annual event, a perfect spot to spread our mission to help keep the music playing for all.

BIG thanks to all who visited our table to say hello, pick up some swag, and donate to our cause. We were thrilled to be among old friends and make some new ones on this very special weekend 🔥

MTF’s mission is to help eligible professional musicians with upper limb injuries keep the music playing. We’re also proud to have musicians and other talented creatives on our own team, too!

Like Joseph Salazar, MTF’s graphic designer and one half of Damascan Daydreams, who recently released the new single, “From The Heavens.” The dream pop duo have several upcoming shows in Austin. Go check them out!

MTF is excited to share a new instrumental album from our board member and friend John Leventhal, entitled "National Drift."

John has been a longtime artist supporter of our mission to keep the music playing, lending his talents to various MTF benefits, often alongside his wife Rosanne Cash ❤️

The new album, a New York Times pick of the week, is available everywhere on John's RumbleStrip Records. Congratulations to one our all-time fave guitarists!

MTF beneficiary Jaimee Harris is hitting the road this month, with select shows in the US thru October, followed by an extensive tour of the UK in November.

Jaimee will also be a featured artist at this year's Underwater Moonshine Fest at Wh***ey Thief Distilling Co. next weekend in Kentucky -- and MTF will be there, too! 🥃
