One Book One Bronx is a new style weekly discussion group that encourages and supports readers. We meet to discuss books that reflect the people of the Bronx. MOSAIC LITERARY CONFERENCE
The Mosaic Literary Conference is an annual event that presents creative ways of keeping books and reading valuable sources of knowledge and creativity. MOSAIC LITERARY MAGAZINE
Mosaic explores the literary arts by writers of African descent, and features interviews, essays, and book reviews. It’s published in conjunction with the Mosaic Literary Conference. EDUCATOR LESSON PLANS
Our lesson plans and workshops, developed for secondary school educators, demonstrate how cultural and social engagement can serve as a connective tool to empower educators to use books, writing, and reading to further engage students.

One Book One Bronx is a free book club where neighbors connect through diverse books and weekly conversations, in person or on Zoom.

This collection of essays is a celebration of the legacy of creativity - especially the rich vein of women's stories and spirituality through the ages and how they nourish the present. Alice Walker traces the umbilical thread linking writers through history - from her discovery of Zora Neale Hurston and her collections of black folklore, to the work of Jean Toomer, Buchi Emecheta and Flannery O'Connor. She also looks back at the highs and lows of the civil rights movement, her early political development, and the place of women's traditions in art. Coining the expression 'womanist prose', these are essays that value women's culture and strength, and the handing on of the creative spark from one generation to another.
