API Rainbow Parents of PFLAG NYC was founded in 2012 as a dedicated group for Asian Pacific Islander (API) le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, & queer/questioning (LGBTQ) people and their families and allies within PFLAG NYC chapter. API Rainbow Parents of PFLAG NYC provides support and information in the same way as PFLAG NYC’s other support groups but has a special focus on meeting the cultural and linguistic needs of API families. This group is open to API parents, family members, and friends, as well as LGBTQ people. API Rainbow Parents of PFLAG NYC also strives to advocate and educate the intersectional issues within API and LGBTQ communities to create an API LGBTQ affirming environment. API Rainbow Parents values the opportunity to engage and connect with the public through social media.
