The Gotham Basketball Association is a Manhattan-based basketball league, non-profit organization and hoops network that began in 2009.

The Gotham Basketball Association is a Manhattan-based basketball league, non-profit organization and hoops network that began in 2009 with a pilot season comprised of six Manhattan-based boys’ teams. In 2013, 72 basketball teams ages 10-15 joined the GBA for the 2013 season. Since its inception, the GBA has actively networked neighboring teams and hoops communities to keep kids and families playi

Shoutout to Makola M. Abdullah, a beloved hoops warrior from my past. A parent gave me this book by Sally Jenkins. I am only a few pages in, but I feel the writing and vantage point are both exceptional. Sally pulls up close to so many greats in effort to figure out how they separate themselves as the best of the best. I’m going to hold my thoughts on my observations as an athlete who saw some of the greatest women’s basketball players up close, but I think I know most of the reasons why they dominated.
