Respected brothers and sisters,

Alhamdulillah, Darul Ahnaf runs with 185 students and eight teachers in a rented building, and it has quickly become a beacon of hope and desire for our community.

The current space is very small to accommodate our students to participate in religious education comfortably. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept new students at this time.

In that situation, we have taken an urgent initiative to arrange a permanent place.

So, as part of the primary fund collection, we have started a donation campaign this Ramadan, sharing the link with you.

লোকটির সাথে প্রায় প্রতিদিন সকালে দেখা হয়। যেহেতু ধর্ম পরিচয় জানিনা, তাই ‘গুড মর্নিং’ বলে আগ বাড়িয়েই কুশল বিনিময় করে থাকি।

সপ্তাহ খানেক আগে তিনি নিজ থেকেই বললেন, আমার নাম আসআদ। আমি আলবেনিয়ান অরিজিন। আমি তার নাম শুনে বুঝতে পারলাম, তিনি একজন মুসলিম। তারপরও নিশ্চিত হতে বললাম, ওহ, আপনি তাহলে মুসলিম? তিনি বললেন, হ্যাঁ, আমি মুসলিম। তারপর থেকে দেখা হলেই সালাম দিয়ে কথা বলি।

গতকাল রাস্তায় দাঁড়িয়ে স্টুডেন্টদের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছি। তিনি বিপরীত দিক থেকে আসছিলেন। স্বাভাবিক কারণেই আমি তাকে খেয়াল করিনি। তিনি আমার কাছে এসে দাঁড়ালেন এবং আমাকে সালাম দিলেন। আমি খেয়াল করলাম, তিনি শুদ্ধভাবে তো নয়ই, এমনকি প্রচলিত ভুল পদ্ধতিতেও সালামের বাক্য জানেন না। তবে আমি যুগপৎ ভীষণ খুশি ও মর্মাহত হয়েছি।

খুশি হয়েছি এ কারণে যে, তিনি গুড মর্নিং এর জায়গায় সালাম দিতে চেষ্টা করেছেন। মর্মাহত হয়েছি এ কারণে যে, একজন পঞ্চাশোর্ধ মুসলিম সালামটাও কোন কারণে শিখতে পারেননি অথবা চর্চায় রাখেননি।

Imam killed outside New Jersey Mosque wrote about how a man had put a gun to his head previously.

‎In a post to his social media profile in August, Sharif had previously described how while on his way to the same mosque for prayer a man put a gun to his head. He wrote on Facebook at the time: 'Every morning as my daily routine, I go to the masjid to offer Fajr salat( prayer) this morning out of all was a definite test.

‎"As I get out of my vehicle heading inside I was approached by an unwanted guest who thought it was a good idea to come behind me an put a gun to my head."

‎The spiritual leader continued: "Allah definitely showed mercy toward him this morning, and I pray he take heed of that mercy and turn his life around.

‎'As I fought him off, I did what I do, I manage to remove the gun from his hand and pull the trigger to stop him dead in his tracks, the gun wouldn’t fire though as he fled."

‎Sharif added that he would not be intimidated and said the experience had been made him feel "disappointed."

‎Police are still investigating if there is any element of bias.

‎Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to God we return (إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ, ʾinnā li-llāhi wa-ʾinnā ʾilayhi rājiʿūn).
