Staten Island Urban Center Community development through community involvement

VISION
Our vision is to strengthen the urban environment of Staten Island neighborhoods by way of community development through community involvement. MISSION
Our mission is to inspire and educate multi-generational and multi-ethnic stakeholders in building healthy neighborhoods through cultural placemaking, community activism, arts, publications and youth development.

IMPACT
The impact of our work will help many community stakeholders assure positive self-determination and independence as they better their own communities. As active community stakeholders engaged in proactive work, we will influence sustainability and growth for the present and the future particularly for residents with the highest socioeconomic needs.

✨ HONOREE SPOTLIGHT ✨
As we celebrate 10 years of Activism, Art & Community, we’re honored to recognize Martha Snow for the meaningful impact they have made in our community.

Martha Snow, Urban Design Forum-Local Center’s leader has been a powerful behind the scenes facilitator helping community organizations like the Staten Island Urban Center create public spaces that bring space equity to the city’s highest need neighborhoods. Martha has held our hand bringing us the resources to help the Tompkinsville community reshape Tompkinsville Park through art, community function and colorful joy through the Abuelita Masala Casita, Tompkinsville Park Greenhouse and Tompkinsville Lightway.

Join us in celebrating Martha Snow and all of our incredible honorees at the Staten Island Urban Center’s 10-Year Anniversary Celebration! 🎉
