100Suits provided programming for women in custody on recently incorporated an afternoon of meditation and movement to promote wellness.

We teamed up with Division of Programs and Community Partnerships and other organizations, to host a Step Into Calm session at the Rose M. Singer Center (RMSC).

In addition to stretching and breathing exercises, the interactive programming also featured line dancing to help reinforce the importance of self-awareness, stress relief, positive coping strategies, laughter and sisterhood.

I truly believe poetry can heal the world

was honored to welcome my brother M.T. .life , Scene Magazine, and his colleagues to join me at Rikers Island for our Valentine’s poetry event at Rosie’s on Monday. It was an open-mic experience where the ladies were able to express themselves freely through their words, their stories, and their truth.

The turnout was beautiful. The energy was powerful. The vibes were real.

Moments like this remind me why this work matters.

We keep showing up. We keep creating space. We keep pushing forward.
