What an unforgettable night!

Our 2026 Annual Gala was more than a celebration.
It was a clear reflection of what our community can do when we come together.

Together, we raised $3.5 million to strengthen Korean American communities nationwide. And there was even more to celebrate: this past year, KACF reached a historic milestone of $20 million in cumulative grantmaking since our founding in 2002.

This year, we were deeply inspired by our Honoree, Miyoung Lee , whose commitment to showing up for others leads by example, and we were proud to honor Trailblazer Awardees , , and .ami, who are opening doors for the next generation.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to Irene Jisun Sohn of Hanul Family Alliance, one of our grantee partners based in Greater Chicago, for sharing her story. Her passion for serving Korean American families and seniors is inspiring and a powerful reminder of why KACF’s support matters. Our dozens of grantee partners are on the ground every day in service of our community, working toward a future where economic security is within reach for all Korean Americans.

This event was a true team effort, made possible by the generosity and collective effort of our staff, board, sponsors, donors, dinner chairs, and gala co-chairs (, , and ). A special shoutout to our amazing emcees and .

Thank you for being part of KACF’s journey—and for helping to build what comes next.

Our President & CEO Kyung B. Yoon recently attended AAPIs in Philanthropy’s Power in Practice Executive Retreat in Los Angeles, where she was able to connect with other AANHPI foundation leaders. It was a meaningful and energizing opportunity to exchange ideas, share challenges, and learn from each other’s work as stewards of AANHPI philanthropy.

Moments like these are a powerful reminder that collective action drives stronger, more lasting change — and it is always so exciting to see growing representation of Korean American leaders in the philanthropic space. We’re grateful to be part of a network that brings AANHPI sector peers together to build a more thriving and sustainable future for our communities.

The Rose: Come Back to Me arrives in theaters on February 14. The film will run for less than one week, so grab your tickets now: therosedoc.com.

Much more than a band documentary, this film intimately explores The Rose’s mental health struggles, their journey to reclaim agency, and what it means to come back stronger together.

The themes at the heart of their story resonate deeply, shedding light on the often hidden struggles in our community and reminding us that healing happens not in isolation, but through collective care and connection.
