Shaping the future of contemporary art with a year-long artist residency program at World Trade Center

10/19/2026

Silver Art — New York’s most ambitious artist residency — will host its annual gala to support year-long free studio space, mentorship, and career development opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists. Join us for an evening with our artists high atop 3 World Trade Center with the most spectacular views of the city.

This year, we celebrate 5 years of artists cohorts so far as we welcome the 2026-27 residents. Throughout the new year, we will be acknowledging all of our alumni. For the gala, we’re honoring one artist from each cohort who had a point of inflection during their time with us.

This is a party with a purpose: to raise funds for our mission of empowering artists through generous studio space and sustaining thriving practices in Lower Manhattan. Your support is an investment in the future of art.

Silver Art’s artist-in-residence Anoushka Mirchandani () presents new works with C A R V A L H O (C A R V A L H O) at The Armory, Booth 133.

After great patience, a small bird comes, 2026
oil, oil stick, and oil pastel on canvas
167.5 x 183 cm
66 x 72 in.

Building on her ongoing explorations of the body, water, and the emotional relationships we form with landscapes, After great patience, a small bird comes (2026) extends the sensorial and ecological inquiries that formed the foundation of Mirchandani’s presentation My Body Was A River Once at the Institute of Contemporary Art San José, curated by Zoë Latzer.

This artwork imagines the body within an interconnected ecology—porous to its surroundings and shaped by the rhythms of growth, decay, and renewal. Water moves through the composition as both physical presence and embodied memory, carrying traces of ancestry, displacement, and belonging. The composition holds delicacy alongside abundance, and vulnerability alongside resilience.

Thrilled to announce a solo booth of new paintings by Silver Art resident Cooper Cox (Cooper Cox) at The Armory Show, presented by OCHI 🎨

This new body of work turns Cox’s eye toward the overlooked — the compositions we pass by without noticing. Rural or urban, his subjects share one thing in common: they’re painted from what lingers in our periphery, not the view we stop to admire.

Working in oil on linen, Cox builds up surface after surface until the paintings feel almost sculptural — every ripple, blade of grass, and pane of glass rendered thick enough to cast its own shadow. The buildup isn’t decorative, it’s structural — a visible record of every decision made along the way.
