There’s something really special happening here…
and her name is Stella 🕊️

About a week ago,
Stella the pigeon chose us.

No cage, no force..
just her own decision.

She showed up,
started free ranging with the chickens and now tucks herself into the coop at night like she’s always belonged.

And here’s the beautiful part…
she can fly away anytime.

She just doesn’t.🥹

Pigeons are far more incredible than most people realize:

🔹They have an amazing homing instinct, which means they choose where they feel safe and will return to it over and over again.

🔹Pigeons are highly intelligent studies show they can recognize human faces and remember them.

🔹They are deeply social and form strong bonds, not just with other birds, but with humans too.

🔹When a pigeon feels safe, it will choose routine, community, and connection over wandering.

Stella didn’t get “rescued”…
she chose her place.

And that says everything about what we are building here.

Sometimes love looks like building something so peaceful…

✨ The Beauty (and Importance) of the Spring Shed ✨

There’s something so satisfying about this time of year…

watching all that thick winter coat come off and seeing the healthy, shiny horse underneath. 🤎

What you’re seeing here with Shadow isn’t just grooming,
it’s essential care as we move into a new season.

As temperatures rise,
horses naturally begin to shed their heavy winter coats.

If that hair isn’t regularly removed:

❗️It can trap heat, making it harder for them to regulate their body temperature.

❗️Sweat and dirt get stuck against the skin, increasing the risk of irritation or skin infections.

❗️It can even slow down circulation to the skin and hair follicles.

Regular grooming during shedding season:
🔹Helps prevent overheating.

🔹Stimulates blood flow and promotes a healthier coat.

🔹Allows us to check for injuries, ticks, or skin issues early.

🔹Keeps them more comfortable overall.

And honestly…
it’s also bonding.

This is a time where trust is built, where they relax, and where we connect. 🤍

Fly season is here… and for horses,
it’s more than just annoying!!!
It can actually impact their health. 🪰

Fly masks aren’t just
“cute accessories.”
They serve a real purpose:

✨ Protect sensitive eyes from flies that can cause irritation and infections.

✨ Help prevent conditions like conjunctivitis and eye injuries.

✨ Shield against UV rays (especially important for light-colored or sensitive eyes like our boys that have blindness)

✨ Reduce stress: imagine trying to relax with flies constantly in your face.

Some horses, like our boys, truly rely on them to stay comfortable and healthy this time of year.

and yes, they may look a little silly, but they’re SO much happier with them on. 🥰

This is Reina.
She is a 5 year old female Bull Mastiff who is looking for the right home.

Reina is deeply people-oriented!

she loves being by your side and being part of your everyday life. She is affectionate, gentle, and truly just wants connection with her person.

She enjoys walks, hikes, and especially loves the water.💦

whether it’s a lake swim
or a day at the beach.🏖️

She has been around children of all ages and has also grown up with cats.
She does well with larger dogs she is comfortable with.

The only challenge:
Reina does not do well with small dogs that bark at her, but no one likes to be yelled at! 😃

She is not a “problem dog.”

She is a good dog who simply needs the right match and environment where she can be successful.

We are looking for a calm, appropriate, committed home where she can truly thrive and be loved the way she deserves.
