✨ Kami is Ready for Her Forever Home ✨

When Kami arrived here at Unshackled Hearts Ranch,
she needed a chance.

As a blind horse with both eyes removed, she had every reason to be fearful of the world around her. Instead, she chose trust.

Today,
Kami is at a healthy weight, feeling great, and making incredible progress with her hoof care.

She has wonderful ground manners, a kind and willing personality, and is sound for riding.

Most importantly,
she has shown us that being blind does not define her.

Kami is sweet, affectionate, and forms strong bonds with the people who take the time to earn her trust.

She navigates her environment beautifully and approaches life with a calm confidence that inspires everyone who meets her.

This special girl deserves a home that will continue to love her for who she is, not for what she’s missing.

She may not see the world, but she has a way of seeing straight into your heart. 🤍

🚨 Looking for anyone interested in PURCHASING good, straight pine for lumber!!

🚨 We need this space cleared and ready before winter and had someone coming that now we haven’t heard from.

(Ideally, we would love for someone to come that wants to mill the wood.. so we could have it for the fences and stables that will be put in after this is cleared.

But at this point, we are just looking to have the trees purchased.)

This is what reminds us why sponsorships matter so much. ❤️

We were so excited to finally welcome Kimberly and Larry out to the ranch for a visit!

As Grayson’s monthly sponsors, they have been helping support his care, but today they got to see firsthand exactly what that support means here at the ranch.

They spent time meeting Grayson, loving on him, and seeing just how far he has come since arriving here.

They also got to meet all of the other animals who call Unshackled Hearts Ranch home and see the impact that kindness, compassion, and community make every single day.

🐔 Well… this was unexpected. 😂

A while back,
Matilda disappeared.

We searched.
We worried.
We assumed the worst.

With hawks around, we sadly thought she had become someone’s lunch.

Then today…

Matilda casually strolls back onto the property like she just got back from a weekend vacation…

WITH A WHOLE FLOCK OF CHILDREN. 😳🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣

No explanation.
No apology.
No text message.
Nothing.

Just, “Hey guys, sorry I’ve been gone. Anyway, here’s your grandchildren.”

Honestly, the audacity. 😂

We’re still trying to count exactly how many babies she brought home, but everyone appears healthy and happy, and we’re thrilled our missing girl is back safe and sound.

Only at Unshackled Hearts Ranch can a chicken go missing, be presumed kidnapped by wildlife, and return as a single mother of a small village.

Welcome home, Matilda. Next time, leave a note. 🗒️ 🐔

💔➡️❤️ Another Life Waiting for a Second Chance

This little donkey is coming from the very same place that Grayson and Daisy came from.

The same place where animals get one last chance for someone to say, “You matter.”

Today, we’re hoping to be that someone once again.

What makes this rescue mission even more special is that this donkey is about Daisy’s size.

For the first time,
Daisy will have a friend she can truly romp, play, and bond with on her own level.

If you’ve watched Daisy blossom since arriving at Unshackled Hearts Ranch, you know how much companionship means to her.

But before that can happen,

There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for Amanda.

While I was tied up on work calls all morning, she sent me a text and said..
“I got it!”
She showed up and took care of everything without being asked.

She mucked the entire barn, cleaned the paddocks, rode Atticus ( he is a c**t and needs this as much as possible!)

She gave both Shadow and Kami their hoof treatments, and made sure every animal here received the love and attention they deserve.🥰

One of the things that makes Unshackled Hearts Ranch so special is that it isn’t built by one person.

It’s built by a community of people with big hearts who believe these animals matter.

Amanda is one of those people.

The animals adore her, and I do too. She never looks for recognition, but she deserves it.

Her willingness to give her time, energy, and love makes a difference!

So today,
we’d like to shine a spotlight on Amanda and say THANK YOU.

Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for treating these animals as if they were your own.

From North Carolina to Unshackled Hearts Ranch… 
and straight into our hearts. ❤️

It was such a joy having Tami’s niece Carmella visit today.

Watching her connect with the crew, especially Shadow..
reminded us that this ranch is about so much more than rescue, it’s about creating a space where people can slow down, breathe, heal, and simply be.

The best part?
She loved it here so much that she may be joining us this summer to help out around the ranch…
and she might even bring her horse with her! 🐴🤍

There is something beautiful about finding a place that feels like home, even when it’s miles away.

We can’t wait to welcome Carmella back and see what memories, friendships, and adventures this next chapter brings.✨✨✨
