The League, an independent international program of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust (RASIT), aims to achieving equality and full participation for women in science in Decision Making and Sustainable Development Programs; and to build Political, International & Scientific Support for the improvement of "Women in Science" education, employment & situations with a clear consideration
for the different needs of different societies & cultures. Women have contributed to science from its earliest days, but generally, they have not been acknowledged and recognized. Based on RASIT Founder President collective data resulted over the period of 20 years of research and studies on gender and science: education, employment, as well as social- and political- issues concerning women advancement in developed and developing countries; and per the recommendations of RASIT's associates, The Women in Science International League was signed into being in 1998 as an independent international Program of RASIT. The League is dedicated to promoting excellence in education and science, and plays an influential role in regional and international higher education policy and supports developments Women in Science Technology Medicine in a wide range of ways. The League aims to:
- Create a dialogue between "Women in Science" & Policy-makers
- Involve "Women in Science" in Decision Making
- Guide Policy-makers on the economic impact of Women in Science in Sustainable Development Programs
- Build Political, International & Scientific Support for the improvement of "Women in Science" education, employment & situations with a clear consideration for the different needs of different societies & cultures
