In Positive Discipline, we look beneath the surface to see what a child’s behavior is really saying. Misbehavior often stems from these mistaken beliefs:

👀 Undue Attention: “I belong only when I’m noticed.”
💪 Misguided Power: “I belong when I’m in control.”
💔 Revenge: “I feel hurt, so I’ll hurt back.”
😞 Assumed Inadequacy: “I can’t do it, so I’ll give up.”

When we understand the belief behind the behavior, we can respond with empathy and guidance, not punishment 💡
