Brooklyn WATE is returning just in time for Women’s History Month — and we’re coming back with intention.

Under our Black Women Teach initiative, we are proud to present:

✨ One Click Closer to Silver & Savvy: Technology 101 for Confident Living ✨

This course is designed specifically for older adults in our community who want to feel more comfortable navigating:

• Smartphones
• Texting & email
• Basic computer skills
• Online safety
• Health portals & everyday digital tools

No pressure.
No embarrassment.
No “you should already know this.”

Just patient, culturally responsive learning that restores confidence and builds independence.

Because when our Black women — especially our seasoned women — feel empowered digitally, they stay connected to their health, their families, and their future.

AND…

-We’ve added two new articles to our Rooted & Rising blog.

One dives into decluttering your space and your heart — releasing emotional weight and resetting without drama.

The other?
It’s all about the girlfriends.

The women who hold us up.
Call us out.
Pray for us.
Laugh with us.
Grow with us.

Because healing isn’t meant to happen in isolation — it happens in community.

We are building skills.
We are building clarity.
We are building sisterhood.

This Valentine’s Day, Brooklyn WATE showed love in a meaningful way by delivering 50 bags of kindness to the Tillary Street Women’s Center in Downtown Brooklyn. Each bag was filled with hygiene essentials, makeup, and a sweet treat—small yet impactful items that many women struggle to access due to hygiene inequity.

Did you know?
📌 Period poverty affects 1 in 4 U.S. women due to the high cost of menstrual products.
📌 In New York, public schools and shelters are required to provide free period products, yet access remains inconsistent.
📌 Many low-income women have to choose between buying food or menstrual products—a decision no one should have to make.

Brooklyn WATE recognizes that feminine hygiene is a right, not a privilege, and we’re committed to supporting women in need. Today was just one small way to spread love and dignity in our community. 💕
