We’d like to take a moment to announce Lauren Bender as the newest member of our coaching staff!

Lauren brings a foundation of competitive experience to our program, having played 9 years of AAU basketball and attending Christ the King High School (2008–2012) a powerhouse program known for producing legendary talent, including Sue Bird, Lamar Odom, and Chamique Holdsclaw.

Following high school, Lauren played four years of college basketball at Adelphi University (2012–2016). A proven sharpshooter, her senior season saw her start all 30 contests while leading the team in playing time at 30.7 minutes per game. That year, she tied for the team lead with 49 three-pointers made (shooting .327 from beyond the arc) and etched her name in the school record books by tying the program record for three-pointers made in a single game (6).

In addition to her playing career, Lauren brings valuable experience from the sidelines, having coached many years of AAU basketball as well as 2 years at the high school level. Her extensive background as both an elite collegiate player and dedicated coach will be a tremendous asset to our program.

Thank you to the New York Liberty and their entire staff for welcoming our organization to Wednesdays Game. Everyone had a wonderful time! Being so close to these incredible professional athletes will definitely make a lasting impact. We can't wait to come back for another game. Good luck the rest of the season. Sky Is The Limit Basketball
Fall 2026 AAU Tryouts

Sky Is The Limit Basketball will be hosting open tryouts for new athletes and welcoming back returning players to compete in our Fall 2026 AAU season.

The Fall season will run September to mid December.

Athletes selected for teams will:

• Practice weekly at The Fieldhouse in Massapequa
• Compete in AAU tournaments and/or leagues locally and throughout long island
• Receive structured coaching focused on player development and competitive team play
• All head coaches at Sky Is The Limit are former NCAA college basketball players

Initial Girls Fall Tryouts:
Saturday, August 22nd

4th Grade Girls - 10:00 AM

5th Grade Girls - 11:00 AM

6th Grade Girls - Noon

Make Up Girls Fall Tryouts:

Sunday, August 30th

4th - 6th Grade Girls - 10:00 AM

Initial Boys Fall Tryouts:

Sunday, August 23rd

3rd Grade Boys - 10:00 AM

4th Grade Boys - 10:00 AM

5th Grade Boys - 11:00 AM

6th Grade Boys - 11:00 AM

7th Grade Boys - Noon

8th Grade Boys - Noon

If you are new athlete joining our organization, we recommend attending both the initial and make up tryout.  This will give our coaches another opportunity to get an accurate grade your athlete.  Returning athletes only need to attend one tryout.

$20 which includes a tryout T shirt.

Sky Is The Limit: Flight Academy Camp is in the books!

I'd like to thank all of the parents for giving our organization the opportunity to coach your kids.

I also want to thank The Fieldhouse, Pressed for Time, 528 Collectables, and everyone else who made this possible.

A special thank you to Coach Marissa for stopping by and talking to the campers about her experiences playing at Iona, playing professionally, Coaching at Seton Hall, and working at OTE, Unrivaled, and the New York Liberty.

Thank you to all of my coaches. I couldn't do this without you.

I can't forget Mo Stevenson for capturing these moments.

Last but not least, thank you to all of the boys and girls who showed up and gave maximum effort to improve their game this week. We are proud of each and every one of you!

Sky Is The Limit 9th Grade won the Premier Father's Day tournament. Capturing their 2nd tournament championship this spring. I can't say enough about this group. Coach Brandon, his brother Evan and the rest of the team hit the ground running this spring. Their chemistry is phenomenal, they compete everyday and are building something very special. I'm excited for what's next for these boys. We are just getting started fellas.
