Learning feels different when you experience it for yourself.

For students at WEP’s Hyderabad Leadership Academy, a visit to Nagarjuna Sagar Dam became a day of curiosity, questions, and confidence.

For many, it was their first time seeing a dam up close — understanding how water reaches communities, how electricity is generated, and how these systems support everyday life.

What made it special was how they learned together.

They observed.
They asked questions.
They shared ideas.
They found their voice.

At WEP, learning is not only about what students know, but what they begin to believe about themselves.

Thank you to our supporters for helping create these moments where learning comes alive.

Last week, our founder Zoë attended the Film Festival in Austin - an evening of films by young women telling stories rooted in lived experience, identity, and community. It felt powerful and familiar. At WEP, we watch our students find their voices every day. This year, LAMP Academy students are learning filmmaking and we can't wait to see their submissions later in 2026. Film Festival

On World Book Day, this is what learning looked like at our Leadership Academies:
A circle of girls.
A book in hand.
Stories being shared—freely, fearlessly.

Our Readers Clubs go beyond reading.
They create spaces where young women build confidence, express themselves, and begin to find their voice.

And that’s where the real story starts.

“Before this, I used to hesitate to speak. Now I feel confident sharing my thoughts.”

What we heard on International women's day was not just career stories.
They were stories of resilience, courage, and transformation.

Young women spoke about journeys that moved from uncertainty to confidence, from learning to leading.

At WEP, we often speak about voices, choices, and futures.
Today, we saw those words come alive through the journeys shared by our alumnae.

The most powerful part of this conversation is that these women are no longer only students of the Leadership Academy.
They are mentors, educators, professionals, and role models who are now supporting the next generation.

This is the power of sisterhood we have built at WEP.

This International Women’s Day reminds us that when we invest in young women, we unlock leadership that carries forward across generations.

Thank you to our partners, supporters, the WEP Board, and advisory members for standing with us in this work.

Today we celebrate the strength, courage, and dreams of women everywhere.

At Women’s Education Project, we see this strength every day in the young women who step forward to learn, lead, and shape their own futures. From first-generation college students to teachers, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, and community leaders, each journey reminds us that when a woman gains opportunity, entire communities grow stronger.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the voices, choices, and futures of every young woman who dares to believe in what she can become.

Because when women rise, families rise. Communities rise. The future rises.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Join us today for our special International Women’s Day conversation.

These numbers reflect more than outcomes. They represent young women who stayed in school, secured employment, gained confidence, and began shaping their futures with clarity.

When we measure progress, we're tracking the shift in how these amazing young women see themselves and what they believe they can influence. Behind every stat in our Impact Assessment is a student who showed up and stayed committed to her growth.
