Part of the Solution, Inc. POTS offers a variety of comprehensive and personalized services to fight poverty and hunger in The Bronx.

Since 1982, Part of the Solution (POTS) has grown to become a leading provider of comprehensive and personalized services to fight poverty and hunger in the Bronx. Our free services are organized in three programmatic pillars:
•Dignity and wellness program (including shower, haircuts, mail, medical and dental services)
•Food Security program (including a food pantry and community dining room)
•Long-term stability program (including guidance on the application to public benefits -like SNAP and Unemployment Insurance-, guidance to achieve long-term personal growth -education and employment goals- and legal services to prevent eviction and support housing and income stability). Desde 1982, POTS (Part of the Solution) ha crecido hasta convertirse en un líder proveedor de servicios comprehensivos y personalizados para luchar contra la pobreza y el hambre en el Bronx. Thank you to everyone who joined us Wednesday for the 2026 POTS Impact Forum: Partnerships in Action!

We were grateful to welcome Adam D. Brown, The New School Center for Global Mental Health; Keith Carr, City Harvest; Jim Buckley, University Neighborhood Housing Program (UNHP); Judy Pryor-Ramirez, NYU Wagner; and Liam Rio, NYU Gallatin and Artists in Action for an exciting conversation exploring mental health, food security, housing affordability, community engagement, and civic action.

Thank you to our speakers for sharing their expertise and perspectives, to NYU Wagner for partnering with us, and to everyone who joined the conversation. We look forward to continuing to turn these ideas into action across our communities.

Curious about how to get personally involved in advocacy and social causes? Last tickets available for our Impact Forum, where you can hear from Liam Rio about his experience promoting civic engagement!

A senior at NYU Gallatin’s School of Individualized Study, Liam connects his creative practice with advocacy. He volunteers as a tutor at The American Sign Language and English Secondary School, serves as president of Artists In Action, and is a 2026 Gallatin Global Urban Practice Fellow. Across these roles, Liam is exploring how art can be used to engage communities and push for meaningful lasting change.

Part of the Solution, in partnership with NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, is pleased to host this year’s Impact Forum, bringing together members of the nonprofit, academic, advocacy, and creative sectors to explore how successful collaborations are built and sustained. Speakers like Liam will share their experiences and perspectives on the power of bringing different communities and disciplines together to create meaningful impact.

Keith is the Senior Policy & Government Relations Manager at City Harvest, where he focuses on advancing the organization’s policy priorities related to hunger and food insecurity. He tracks city, state, and federal policies, evaluates how changes may affect City Harvest’s clients and emergency food partners, and develops advocacy strategies around these key issues.

Is it possible to design an educational program while supporting local communities?

Join us at our upcoming Impact Forum for a conversation with Professor Judy Pryor-Ramirez, a practitioner-scholar at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service whose work focuses on social transformation and community-based participatory action research.

A recipient of Wagner’s 2023 Professor of the Year award, Professor Pryor-Ramirez also directs Wagner’s Executive MPA program, where she supports mid-career leaders committed to advancing the public good.
