Zikr-e-Ahlebait Program Held in North Carolina

The AMAN Women’s Wing North Carolina Chapter successfully organized a beautiful and spiritually uplifting “Zikr-e-Ahlebait – A Remembrance of Karbala” program at the Islamic Center of Morrisville, North Carolina.

The event, organized under the leadership of Sister Samreen Nawaz, Head of the AMAN Women’s Wing North Carolina Chapter, was attended by a large gathering of sisters who came together to remember the sacrifice of Imam Hussain and the noble family of the Prophet ﷺ. The program highlighted the timeless lessons of faith, patience, courage, sacrifice, and standing for truth and justice.

We commend Sister Samreen Nawaz and her dedicated team for their hard work and commitment in organizing this successful gathering and thank the leadership and management of the Islamic Center of Morrisville for their hospitality and support.

May Allah ﷻ accept these efforts and enable us all to benefit from the teachings of Karbala and the noble example of the Ahlul Bayt.

Khutbah-e-Jumu‘ah at Makki Masjid, Brooklyn, New York

Alhamdulillah, AMAN President Dr. Khushtar Noorani delivered a powerful and inspiring Friday sermon at Makki Masjid, Brooklyn, New York, on the topic of “The Philosophy of Martyrdom (Shahadah).”

Hundreds of worshippers attended the Jumu‘ah gathering and benefited from Dr. Noorani’s insightful discussion on the true meaning of sacrifice, faith, and commitment to higher values in Islam.

During his sermon, Dr. Noorani emphasized the importance of respecting the law of the land and the Constitution, expressing gratitude for the religious freedom and opportunities available in the United States. He encouraged Muslims to be exemplary citizens, promote peaceful coexistence, strengthen community harmony, and contribute positively to society.

We are grateful to the President, management, and congregation of Makki Masjid for their warm hospitality and for providing this opportunity to engage with the community.

On June 20, 2026, Minhaj-ul-Quran USA hosted a program in Brooklyn, New York, titled “The Seerah and Modern Times” in honor of Shaykh Hammad Qadri. At the invitation of Minhaj-ul-Quran, AMAN leadership members, including Dr. Khushtar Noorani, M***i Sajjad Raza Madani, Imam Bilal Khan, Qari Ejaz Ahmad, and Syed Hamza Hasan, attended the event.

Dr. Khushtar Noorani addressed the gathering and highlighted the vision, mission, and objectives of AMAN, emphasizing its commitment to community engagement, interfaith cooperation, and positive civic participation. On this occasion, AMAN also presented a commemorative shield to Shaykh Hammad Qadri in recognition of his scholarly services and contributions.

During his visit, M***i Manzarul Islam met with community leaders, educators, students, and parents, and witnessed firsthand the academy’s inspiring efforts in nurturing a generation that is academically accomplished and firmly rooted in Islamic values.

The American Muslim Advocacy Network (AMAN) was honored to attend the third annual Imam Hussain Day at Nassau County Executive Office in Long Island, New York. Organized by South Asian American Affairs team Syed Own Naqvi and Choudhary Akram Rahmania, Imam Hussain Day commemorates the life and sacrifice of the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

Representing AMAN, Imam Anwar Alvi (general secretary of AMAN) spoke about the universal message of Imam Hussain which is to stand against oppression on all levels, to stand with truth and justice no matter the cost. Imam Alvi emphasized that these are not just stories, rather they are timeless lessons for us to stand upon, and that AMAN’s core mission of standing against hate and oppression is derived from the life of Imam Hussain.

AMAN Director, Syed Hamza Hassan, also expressed solidarity and congratulated Mr. Own Naqvi and his team on organizing the third annual Imam Hussain Day. He committed AMAN’s support for this mission of spreading the wisdom and lessons from the life of Imam Hussain amongst the American Muslim population.

The American Fatwa Council is pleased to announce that reliable and positive moon-sighting reports for the crescent of Muḥarram al-Ḥarām 1448 AH have been received from various regions of the world according to our established criteria.

Accordingly, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, will be the 1st of Muḥarram al-Ḥarām 1448 AH and the beginning of the new Hijri year.

As we enter this blessed and sacred month, we pray that Allah grants peace, guidance, prosperity, and steadfastness in faith to the entire Ummah. May He bless our families, communities, and nations, and make this new Hijri year a source of unity, mercy, and spiritual renewal.

The American Muslim Advocacy Network (AMAN) was honored to participate in the Interfaith Council for Symbols and Words of Peace and Hate hosted by the New York City Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes (OPHC) at the historic Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

Representing AMAN were Chairman M***i Sajjad Madani and Director Syed Hamza Hassan, who joined faith leaders, community advocates, and public officials in a meaningful dialogue on promoting understanding, combating hate, and strengthening relationships across diverse communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to OPHC and all organizers for creating a platform that encourages respect, cooperation, and constructive engagement among people of different faiths and backgrounds. AMAN remains committed to building bridges of understanding and working alongside our partners to foster peace, mutual respect, and unity throughout New York and beyond.
