I have met many Officers that controlled a scene the way an ACO/Dog Warden would. Please if you are a P.O in route to a call and or dispatch calling it over the air, please notify your towns Animal Control Service, to lessen confusion and possible injuries to staff or public.

If you want something that doesn't bark, get yourself a teddy bear. Smh. If you have a barking dog , try to find out why its barking . Create barriers, add some k9 enrichment into the dogs life or even just a little more socializing on your part.

DOG ATTACK: Police in Miramar, FL confirm that a toddler, has been mauled to death by a dog. Animal Control is now on the scene.
Police have not confirmed the age of the victim, who is believed to be around 8 months old.

Under general supervision, incumbents are responsible for enforcement of the animal control laws and ordinances, and for providing care to captured animals for the City of Oakland. Animal Control Officers are required to wear a uniform, work outdoors and in all types of weather, may work non-standard hours and shifts, and perform related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have professional or volunteer experience working with companion and/or exotic animals in the animal welfare industry. S/he will have compassion for animals and people while recognizing the importance of adhering to standards and procedures. Though tasked with enforcing animal related laws, this is not a peace officer position or a journey level position towards that end.
