August 26 is celebrated as Women's Equality Day, marking the anniversary of the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This victory followed a decades-long movement starting formally with the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848. The amendment did not instantly enfranchise all women; many women of color faced Jim Crow discriminatory barriers until the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

With voting rights in this country being questioned we thought it a good day to remember & repost our SONGS OF SUFFRAGE concert. Also a good day to check your own voter registration and make a plan for voting come November.
