Zero Waste Day conversations are a time to collaborate, learn, be inspired from each others' experience, and find ways to overcome barriers to implementing zero waste. It is R20W's intention to amplify grassroots voices and give recognition to the work that they're doing.

Ika is an environmental advocate and community organizer, blending grassroots movements with impactful climate action. Passionate about sustainability, she coordinates large-scale volunteer programs at Dompet Dhuafa, empowering thousands to drive change in Indonesia.

DAVID NGIGE - Dajopen Waste Management Solutions (Kenya)
David has vast experience in Organic farming, Agro ecology farming, Agroforestry farming and waste recycling. A social enterprise trainer in charge of community Research, production and Marketing of Agricultural recycled products in Kitale Kenya, he is also a member of North Rift Regional centre of expertise headquartered at University of Eldoret. He a member of Africa Centre of Regional Expertise and Global Regional Centre of expertise.

PAL MARTENSSON - World Cleanup Day (Sweden)
Pal Martensson is a global leader in Zero Waste with decades of experience in waste management and resource recovery. Founder of the world’s largest ECO/REUSE park, he’s a board member of ZWIA and Let’s Do It World, playing a key role in World Cleanup Day.

MAHESH NAKARMI - HECAF360 (Nepal)
Mr. Mahesh Nakarmi is founding Chairman and Executive Director of Health Environment and Climate Action Foundation (HECAF360), which is creating a clean, green, environmentally safe, healthy and resilient community in Nepal. He pioneered the use of autoclaves to disinfect health care waste—a smart solution to the disposal of infectious waste into municipal dumps across Nepal.

DR. AMAN KARIM - NUMS / Zero Waste Alliance Pakistan
Dr. Aman Karim is Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Biotechnology at National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Pakistan. He is a zero waste advocate and is dedicated to environmental stewardship at NUMS. He is a co-founder of the Zero Waste Alliance Pakistan (ZWAP), an initiative of leading academia from every region of Pakistan aiming to extend zero waste across Pakistan.

Attention ⚠️ This is just a reminder to submit a proposal for speaking at the annual hybrid national recycling congress scheduled for October 1-3 at the Wichita State University State University.

As a speaker, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with an engaged audience working towards solutions in circularity, recycling, and waste prevention.

While the event offers virtual participation for attendees, all speakers will be in person. You can propose as an individual speaker, or as a panel presentation with up to 3 speakers and 1 moderator. Each session is scheduled for an hour and a half. Speaker proposals must be submitted by the close of business tomorrow May 15th, 2025 at midnight EDT.
