Fort Schuyler was more than a fort. It became a campaign problem. Its defense, Oriskany, Haudenosaunee divisions, Learned’s Brigade including the 2nd Massachusetts Regiment and Arnold’s deception helped weaken St. Leger’s expedition. Saratoga was never only Saratoga. https://tinyurl.com/afnfu7uu

Another great video from yesterday! 🇺🇸

Recreating the largest battle of the American Revolution was a speciaThe Brigade of the American Revolutionith the public made it even more meaningful.

A huge thank you to Brigade for making this event possible and to everyone who helped bring the history to life.

Special thanks to John, Henry, Dakota, and our company officers, Dave and Matt, for all the work that went into making this possible. It takes a great team to put history on the ground—and this was one we will remember. 👏🇺🇸

Please turn up your volume and listen to that crowd! 🔊👏

As our friend Henry Cooke said, it was like a smash-up of a World Cup crowd and a reenactment crowd. And honestly, that is pretty hard to beat. 🇺🇸

As a reenactor, there is something special about hearing an enthusiastic crowd cheering from the sidelines—and then marching through Brooklyn and seeing all those smiling faces along the route.

Brooklyn absolutely did it up right. ❤️

A huge thank-you to every spectator who came out, cheered, asked questions, waved, smiled, and made this event so special. You gave the living historians something we will remember for a long time.

Brooklyn, you were amazing! Thank you! 🇺🇸🔥👏

One week until the Westford 4‑H Faire! This event reminds us why we value families in living history — kids learning by doing, parents sharing skills, and everyone finding a role that fits.

The Faire is a civilian day for us: relaxed, friendly, and full of the things we love most — community, good food, and animals that steal the show. If your family enjoys history, come meet us and see how the 2nd Mass keeps that spirit alive all year long.

The Battle of Brooklyn was outstanding. What a day!

A huge thank-you to our hosts, The Brigade of the American Revolution, and all of their partners in Brooklyn and Prospect Park, who welcomed us so warmly.

Enjoy these photos of some of the finest living historians in the world in the greatest city in the world.

That last part is a little difficult for a bunch of diehard Red Sox fans to say. 😂⚾️

But honestly, Brooklyn gave us some of the nicest crowds we have encountered. People were welcoming, engaged, and asked thoughtful questions. We felt the love all day.

History is at its best when people come together to experience it, ask questions, and share the story. It is all our history. Love hearing USA chants.

Thank you, Brooklyn! ❤️🇺🇸

Good day in Brooklyn! 🇺🇸

It was an honor to commemorate the largest battle of the American Revolution and to be part of the march through the borough. The original plan called for a running battle, which probably would not have worked nearly as well—but this was even better!

Sharing a love of history with such a great Brooklyn community was an incredible experience. Seeing people come together to remember the courage, sacrifice, and choices of those who stood on these streets nearly 250 years ago was truly special.

History comes alive when we walk the same ground together. 🇺🇸
