“A Taste of Tel Aviv in LA” 🇮🇱🌴

Last week, we welcomed 55+ guests for a special event bringing “a taste of Tel Aviv” to the YRF LA community! Guests enjoyed a high-energy afternoon filled with delicious Israeli food, coffee, and cocktails.

A special thank you to our generous hosts, Michael, Daniel, and Jasmin Hakimi, who spoke passionately about YRF and Darca Schools and the importance of investing in Israel’s greatest resource: its people.

The day continued with incredible Israeli entertainment from DJ Omri “PopEye” Kedem, a former Nova Festival performer and October 7th survivor, followed by Israeli vocalist Ofek Ben Harush.

Meet Maggie 📈👩🏻‍💻📊

Maggie is a data analyst with a Master’s Degree in Mathematics who has now returned to her former Darca High School as a mentor.

With deep knowledge, analytical thinking, and endless curiosity, Maggie is an inspiring example of excellence, perseverance, and giving back to her community.

Today, she mentors female students in mathematics, helping them believe in their abilities, grow their confidence, and aim high.

Maggie’s journey reflects the power of education, inspiration, and trailblazing women — and serves as a meaningful example for the next generation to dream, learn, and make an impact!

YRF in Aspen 2026 ⛰️🥂

This week, we welcomed 75 guests to our 6th Annual Aspen Summer Event for an afternoon of meaningful conversation, connection, and learning.

YRF SVP, Sabrina Kurzman, shared why investing in education is essential to Israel’s future, followed by a powerful Q&A with Darca alumnus Dr. Hadi Abulzf, who reflected on his remarkable journey from a student at Darca Yarka to a Nuclear Engineer & Professor at Ben-Gurion University.

The following morning, guests came together once again for a scenic hike along Hunter Trail and a bagel brunch in partnership with Americans for Ben-Gurion University.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable few days in Aspen!

Meet Tamir 🏀🧑🏽‍💻🪖

Tamir is a member of Israel’s National Basketball Team for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and serves as a volunteer Team Leader in a Military Technology Unit.

Whether on the basketball court or in service to his country, Tamir leads with determination, resilience, and commitment to excellence. His success as an elite athlete reflects the power of teamwork, perseverance, and discipline, while his leadership in a military technology unit demonstrates his professionalism, responsibility, and dedication to making a meaningful impact.

Tamir’s journey is a powerful reminder that challenges do not define our potential. Through his leadership, service, and athletic achievements, he continues to inspire others to pursue their goals, break barriers, and contribute to something greater than themselves.

Rivka is an Israeli Air Force technician, Presidential Excellence Award recipient, and graduate of Darca Achva in Dimona.

As a technician in the IAF, Rivka works with professionalism and dedication, contributing to Israel’s security with a true sense of purpose.

Her selection as a Presidential Excellence Award recipient reflects her deep commitment to her role, to her community, and to the State of Israel.

Rivka’s journey serves as an inspiration to anyone who strives to break barriers and contribute meaningfully to her country!
