Our World Friend is a 501(c)3 non-for-profit corporation that benefits local, regional, and global charitable organizations whose focus is the benefit of children. Through charitable giving, everyone can give to multiple charities at one time. After careful review by our Board of Directors, the result is that those gifts, joined with those of other individuals who share the same concerns, will support multiple programs in diverse communities. All with the knowledge and security that their donation is being distributed with the greatest positive impact.
The executive director of Our World Friend, John Pergolizzi, spent 18 years as a financial consultant on Wall Street. In 2003 he founded a charity auction and over the course of several years he raised over $50,000; one hundred percent of which was distributed to three non-profit organizations: Operation Smile, The Make a Wish Foundation, and The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. "After much thought , I realized that I would like to confine my life's efforts to the benefit of children. After looking at some very worthy charitable organizations, I decided that I wanted to help them all!" Over time, the experience became more and more important to him. "I was very privileged to have the opportunity to be altruistic once a year running those auctions, and I liked it. So I've selfishly decided to do it full time!"
