We were thrilled to have former dancers from 1985-2025 fill the stage to take a bow at the end of the 40th Anniversary Celebration. EDD is in its 40th year in large part because of their artistry.

We continue celebrating Eva Dean Dance’s 40th Anniversary by sharing photos from our archives. This month, we are sharing more recent photos that highlight our performances from 2020-2024. Featured dances include two premieres, street performances in Brooklyn & Manhattan, and our final performance at Union Street Dance.

“Moving Forward Together” will spotlight the initiation of DSA’s mission to transform NYC’s dance culture and community through accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.

DSA is a strong alliance of some of NYC’s top studios and artists working together to empower dancers, through training, paid work, and to provide spaces to create live performance art.

As our 39th birthday month closes, we’d like to share a throwback picture of our founder, artistic director, and choreographer Eva Dean. Cheers to 39 years of creating & performing! To celebrate our 39th birthday, EDD has been reflecting on our past and gearing up for the great things still to come. Stay tuned!

ICYMI, November marks the 39th anniversary of Eva Dean Dance Company! This Throwback Thursday post shows current company member Manuela Sanchez performing “LIQUID SILVER, Sanctuary” in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. EDD is known for site-specific work and has performed in Prospect Park numerous times in the last 39 years.

We’re enjoying our trip down memory lane as we celebrate our 39th birthday. Stay tuned for our big 4-0 next year!
