What an incredible feeling to stand next to Speaker Julie Menin today as she announced the END of deadly carriage horses in NYC! Her extraordinary leadership and determined compassion accomplished what no other elected official could do the past 20 years to break through the political gridlock on this issue. Next Thursday at City Hall we will PASS Romanch's Law and we will be surrounded by a devoted community of NYCLASS advocates who never gave up on this fight, even when it seemed impossible! And we are so lucky to have the best bill sponsor imaginable in Council Member Chris Marte and the first ever Animal Welfare Caucus to help champion this bill. We are so grateful, and so ready to make history for the horses next week!

BREAKING: The New York City Council will pass Romanch’s Law on October 22 to ban horse-drawn carriages! We have the support of the Council and the mayor to finally END this deadly cruel industry.

How YOU can fight back! The War on Wildlife, a chilling look at a global crisis where animals face not only habitat destruction and climate-fueled fires, but deliberate, state-sanctioned eradication. Across the globe, human aggression toward wild species has reached an alarming fever pitch.

In Colorado, Colorado Amendment 83 threatens to enshrine hunting and fishing as constitutional "preferred means" of wildlife management, potentially rolling back historic bans on brutal practices like leghold traps and spring bear hunting.

Meanwhile, on California's Catalina Island, innocent deer face ongoing slaughter—despite warnings from the local fire chief that losing the grass-grazing animals could dangerously increase wildfire fuel for the island's residents.

Federal policies are equally bleak. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Barred Owl Management Strategy has finalized a controversial plan to slaughter up to 500,000 barred owls across the Pacific Northwest. Critics argue this massive slaughter serves as a smokescreen to appease the timber industry and expand logging in old-growth forests. Add to this the taxpayer-funded roundup of wild horses bound for foreign slaughterhouses, and it is clear our sixth mass extinction is being accelerated by human design with the help of our own tax dollars, despite the opposition of millions of American animal lovers.

Groundbreaking, culture-shifting progress is underway in the fight to end animal testing, and UnchainedTV's Truth Files dives deep into this monumental shift with host Jane Velez-Mitchell and guest Wayne Pacelle, President of the Center for a Humane Economy and Animal Wellness Action.

BREAKING — A horse carriage tipped over today in San Antonio.
Wherever there are horse carriages in urban environments, there are dangerous situations that put the lives of the horse and the public at risk.

San Antonio ALREADY banned the carriages to be phased out by 2030, but until then we risk tragedy every single day.
New York MUST be next to ban the carriages, and get rid of them off the streets as soon as possible.

BE PART OF HISTORY! WATCH, COMMENT, SHARE! History is unfolding right outside the gates of Marshall BioResources in North Rose, New York. As the historic 14-day March to Abolish Animal Testing reaches its crescendo, a powerful cultural shift is undeniable. Today is day 15 and the markers have declared: “We have arrived!”

For two weeks, relentless advocates have walked across New York State to say a definitive” “NO more animal tests.” Now, this monumental movement converges on the nation’s largest commercial beagle breeder, where an estimated 16,000 to 20,000 dogs are reportedly confined behind closed doors destined to be shipped to laboratories for painful experimentation. The marchers want them ALL OUT!

This is a convergence of leaders from across the animal rights and rescue world demanding the local district attorney remove all the animals from MBR and launch an investigation into cruelty allegations against the facility. The marchers held a loud protest outside the DA’s office yesterday!

DAY 14: THE MARCH REACHES NORTH ROSE
After two weeks of cold nights, difficult conditions and nearly 200 miles on foot, the March to End Animal Testing reaches North Rose, New York. As many as 100 marchers are expected to complete today’s 15-mile journey, bringing them within two miles of Marshall BioResources. Animal advocates are arriving from across the country, including Zoe Rosenberg and defendants from the Ridglan Farms rescue campaign.

After reaching North Rose, the marchers will travel by vehicle to the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office in Lyons. They are demanding an official investigation into disturbing allegations made by a former Marshall employee. Attorney and Against All Oddz founder Matt Albert will lead the speak-out, joined by Zoe Rosenberg, Ridglan defendants and other animal advocates.
On Saturday, marchers will complete the final two miles and gather at Marshall’s gates for a peaceful rally, protest and vigil. Solidarity events are also being organized in other cities and countries—including San Diego, where UnchainedTV will be covering the action.

Marshall BioResources denies allegations of animal cruelty and points to recent USDA inspections that it says resulted in no citations. UnchainedTV invites Marshall BioResources and local authorities to respond.

As the historic 207-mile March to Abolish Animal Testing enters Day 13, the energy is electric. The ranks are swelling as advocates converge on upstate New York, drawing closer to their ultimate target: Marshall BioResources, the nation's largest commercial breeder of beagles for animal experimentation.
Following an early finish to the day's trek, the group has gathered at Conquest Recreation Field for an evening of community, sign-making, and delicious vegan burrito bowls courtesy of PETA. But the rest stop is also a powerhouse of inspiration.
