🦃 Thanksgiving Dinner Tips for People With Jaw Pain
For anyone walking into a holiday meal thinking, “I can’t chew the turkey or the tension.”

• Go straight for the mashed potatoes and stuffing. No explanation necessary.
• If conversation gets weird, excuse yourself for a “jaw break.” Nobody questions medical time-outs.
• You’re not required to answer invasive questions just because someone baked a pie.
• Sit next to the person least likely to narrate your medical history back to you.
• And if all else fails, mentally tap out and start planning your Black Friday cart. Gratitude comes in many forms.

Some holidays are about family, some are about survival, and some are about not dislocating your face at the dinner table. Do what you need to do.

🎤 FINDING YOUR VOICE

Ever feel like your jaw pain stole your voice — literally and figuratively? Same.

Meet — a singer, voice coach, and artist who talks about the importance of reclaiming your voice when it suddenly feels out of reach. TMJ can turn something as simple as talking, singing, or even smiling into a full-body effort.

Through her art, Xiolynn teaches people how to breathe through the tension, and reconnect to the sound caught underneath the pain. Her message is a reminder that our voices don’t disappear — they just get buried under layers of tight muscles, medical gaslighting, and “have you tried yoga?” energy.

Pain has a way of shrinking us. But this month, we’re turning the volume back up.

Because finding your voice isn’t just about speaking — it’s about being heard.

So here’s to everyone who’s whispered through the pain, hummed through the heartbreak, and kept showing up anyway.

Your voice matters.
Your story matters.
And we’re just getting started.

🎧 Tag someone who helped you find your voice again.

🦷⚡️TMJ Awareness Month Tip: Visiting the Dentist
If you live with TMJ pain, a trip to the dentist can feel like a workout for your jaw. Here’s how to make it a little easier:

✅ Find a dentist who listens and cares. When you find a dentist that makes you feel safe, stick with them! A huge following on social media is awesome, but when I'm in the chair...I want to be the only person whose attention matters. Build a rapport with your provider— Let them know about your TMJ history, surgeries, or flare-ups. Ask for breaks and shorter appointments if needed. Don't be afraid to share your concerns and speak up.

🪞 Ask for jaw-friendly tools — Request smaller bite blocks or use a rolled towel under your jaw for support.

😬 Skip the wide-open pose — Your jaw shouldn’t have to audition for Jaws 5. Keep your mouth opening comfortable and pain-free.

🧊 Prep and recover — Apply ice or heat before and after your visit to help reduce inflammation. Do what works best for you!

🪥 Schedule smart — Avoid booking on days you’re already sore or stressed — tension can worsen TMJ pain. Plan to return home to your bed rather than racing back to work. Give yourself a chance to recover.

💬 Advocate for yourself — If something hurts, say so! You deserve care that respects your limits. Advocating for yourself doesn't mean fighting with the doctor, sometimes it means explaining your fears, frustrations, and chronic pain.

This TMJ Awareness Month, let’s remind every dental chair that comfort is part of care.

The GOAT of all influencers just jumped on the TMJ bandwagon. 🐐💁‍♀️

Kim K’s new SKIMS face wrap isn’t just about snatching jawlines—it’s serving real potential for post-op swelling support after jaw surgery or TMJ flares. 👀💥

We’re not saying it’s a cure. The new SKIMS Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap is made with collagen yarns, Velcro closures, and a heavy dose of influencer energy. Kim says it’s “a necessity.”
We say: Welcome to the post-op core. We’ve been here.
✅ May help reduce swelling after jaw surgery
✅ Can offer gentle compression for TMJ flare-ups
✅ Finally—jaw pain gets a little spotlight (even if it’s filtered)

🧠 TMJ pain isn’t just aesthetic. It’s real. It’s medical. And it deserves products that prioritize comfort AND care.

🎾 Oh My Grand Slam Comeback: Venus Williams is Still Serving Aces—and Advocacy

After 8 years off the Grand Slam stage, Venus Williams just made an epic return—and she didn’t just bring the heat on the court. She brought the receipts on the broken healthcare system, too.

🩺 “I’m always at the doctor,” Venus admitted courtside. “So I need this insurance.”
That’s not just a soundbite—it’s a reality check. Venus, now 45, lives with Sjogren’s Syndrome, an autoimmune condition that impacts energy levels, joints, and more. She also underwent surgery for uterine fibroids—a condition disproportionately impacting Black women and often left untreated for far too long.

👊🏾 And yet, she’s still out here:
— Smashing stereotypes
— Demanding better care for women
— And showing the world what resilience really looks like.

👉 TMJ and pelvic floor pain are linked by more than just bad luck. They’re connected by nerve pathways, posture, stress, and hormonal shifts—the kind most women are told to “just stretch out” or “relax about.”
But sometimes, the pain that starts in your jaw ends up showing up in your hips. And vice versa.

🎾 The truth?
Most of us have been volleyed between providers like a tennis ball no one wants to claim—until we find the right partner who actually sees the whole court.

Because when it comes to women’s health:
— We hit the net more than once.
— The refs (aka insurance) make the wrong calls.
— And no one tells you that you need a whole team to play this game well.

🎤 Venus isn’t just playing tennis—she’s playing the long game for health equity.
We see you, we celebrate you, and we stand with every woman who’s been told to wait, suffer, or “tough it out.”

🧾 Insurance coverage shouldn’t be a luxury item. It should be the baseline.
🏥 Chronic illness doesn’t make you weak. It makes you a warrior.
🗣️ And women shouldn’t have to win a Grand Slam to be taken seriously.

🖤 Oh My Jaw Pain Hits Hard and Leaves You on a Soft Diet Tour

What do EDS, POTS, MCAS, Tourette’s, anxiety, depression, BDD, synesthesia, and chronic pain have in common?

🎤 Billie Eilish has been managing them all—and still made history.
She’s not just a Grammy-winning icon. She’s a walking Venn diagram of overlapping chronic illness, and she’s using her voice to unmute what it really feels like to live with invisible conditions.

✨ Her journey is more than a diagnosis—it’s a whole damn playlist:

🎶 “Everything I Wanted” — Except a stable autonomic nervous system.
🎶 “My Future” — Is full of pacing, compression socks, and pre-hydration.
🎶 “When the Party’s Over” — Because sensory overload is real.
🎶 “No Time To Die” — But plenty of time to lie down.
🎶 “All the Good Girls Go to Hell” — …because they dared to say they’re in pain.
🎶 “Getting Older” — Hits different when your joints are aging faster than you are.
🎶 “What Was I Made For?” — Asking this while Googling “jaw clicking + migraine + nausea + why.”

🧬 Billie’s lived experience is proof:
Chronic illness isn’t always visible.
It’s rarely just one thing.
And it never fits neatly into a single medical specialty.

Her story reminds us that resilience doesn’t mean pretending it’s easy. It means showing up anyway—with tics, tears, tattoos, and truth.

Because for many of us…
🎧 The real pain is in the remix.
