AI can accelerate decisions. It cannot replace leadership.

For women entrepreneurs leading growing companies, the advantage is not simply adopting AI. It is knowing where technology adds value and where experience, context, and judgment remain indispensable.

The strongest leaders know that AI is one input, not the final answer. They ask better questions, seek diverse perspectives, and test assumptions before making decisions that shape their businesses.

Before acting on an AI recommendation, consider:
• What context might be missing?
• What evidence supports this recommendation?
• What perspectives from my team should inform this decision?

Technology can enhance decision-making, but leadership still depends on discernment, accountability, and the willingness to challenge assumptions.

How are you balancing AI with human judgment in your business?

This post was inspired by Nik Kinley's Fast Company article, "AI Psychosis Is the New Leadership Blind Spot."

WPO Montreal Members welcomed Platinum X members for an evening that reflected the strength of WPO's global community of women entrepreneurs.

As shared by Sergina Guéry:

“The most beautiful encounters are the ones that make us want to become a better version of ourselves.”

The gathering was marked by thoughtful conversation, shared experiences, and the meaningful exchange of perspectives that happens when accomplished entrepreneurs come together.

Whether across chapters, countries, or markets, WPO brings together women entrepreneurs and CEOs to challenge one another's thinking, share insights gained through experience, and build trusted relationships that support long-term business growth.

A few weeks ago, WPO member Johanna Faigelman hosted her local WPO Toronto chapter for a summer get-together filled with good conversation, laughter, and connection.

As Johanna shared:

“There’s a particular kind of ease that comes from good company, good conversation, and nowhere else to be.”

For women entrepreneurs and CEOs, moments like these matter. Leadership can be demanding, complex, and often isolating. Being in a trusted room with women who understand the realities of building and leading a business creates space to reconnect, reflect, and strengthen the relationships that sustain growth.

Thank you to Johanna for creating a meaningful gathering for her chapter.

A strong peer advisory room does more than celebrate what you have built.

It listens closely. It challenges thoughtfully. It opens doors with intention.

Roni Jackson, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Red Flag Mania, recently shared her company’s growth story with her WPO chapter (Chicago I). Red Flag Mania is bringing true-crime edtech into higher education and corporate learning, now reaching 250+ universities.

After her story, the room applauded her. Then they asked the question WPO members know well:

“How can we help?”

That question is simple, but it reflects something powerful. In the right room, support becomes strategic. Encouragement comes with an honest perspective. Relationships become real business momentum.

This is what happens when women entrepreneurs are surrounded by peers who understand the complexity of building, scaling, leading, and asking for the right introductions at the right time.

Congratulations to Roni and the Red Flag Mania team. We are proud to see WPO members building companies that are not only growing, but changing how people learn.

Twenty-five years leading a construction firm. A seat at the center of Chicago's most powerful government and business circles. A wellness brand built around authenticity. A government IT firm acquired and scaled to national recognition.

Dannette Davis, Lisa Duarte, Durana Elmi, and Kathryn Freeland are four of the 24 women honored at the 2025 Entrepreneurial Women of Impact Awards, and each of them represents a completely different definition of what it means to build something that lasts.

Dannette has led Kay Davis Associates for 25 years while founding a nonprofit and directing theatre on Houston stages.

Lisa was named one of Chicago Magazine's Top 50 Most Powerful Chicagoans in 2024 and is a trusted advisor to Fortune 100 companies.

Durana leads Cymbiotika as a mother, a role model, and a woman who believes authenticity changes everything.

Kathryn acquired A-TEK in 2010 after founding her own IT firm and has since been inducted into the Maryland Top 100 Women Circle of Excellence.

The 2026 Entrepreneurial Women of Impact Awards are now open. We are looking for the next women leaders to be recognized for the businesses they have built, the teams they have strengthened, and the impact they continue to create.

If you see yourself in this recognition, apply by August 11. If you know a leader who should be considered, nominate her.

North America is full of women of color who are quietly leading companies, building teams, and reshaping entire industries. We are looking for the next recipients of the 2026 Entrepreneurial Women of Impact Awards.

This award, a joint collaboration between the Women Presidents Organization and Women Elevating Women, is open to women of color entrepreneurs who are CEO or President of a privately held, for-profit business and have generated at least $500,000 in revenue.

Applicants are evaluated across three categories based on business size, from $500K to $1M, $1M to $10M, and $10M and above, so whether she is building steadily or scaling rapidly, she has a shot at being recognized.

This award is for the leader who has been building, growing, and making an impact for years without the spotlight. The CEO or President whose clients and teams know her impact, but whose story has not yet received national recognition. The entrepreneur who has built a strong, sustainable business and is ready to have her achievements recognized.

Know a woman whose leadership and impact deserve recognition? Encourage her to apply or nominate her for the 2026 Entrepreneurial Women of Impact Awards.

Applications are open now and close August 11. Share this opportunity with a leader in your network and help us recognize the next class of honorees.
