HART: the Harlem Art Collective

Our goal as a collective is to use art as a tool to:

1. Raise awareness and encourage dialogue about specific issues impacting our community.

We are a socially conscious and artistically active collective of artists and community members who use art as a tool to engage, educate, unite, inspire, and empower East Harlem Inspire our community and encourage artistic expression; create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone to participate

2. Instill pride and respect in our neighborhood by beautifying and restoring abandoned an

d neglected spaces.

3. Make new friends, bring our neighbors together, and strengthen our community bond by working together on projects.

4. Share our skills and talents with each other; educate, learn from, and empower one another

6. Bridge cultural understanding and tolerance, not only within our own diverse neighborhood, but with other communities as well. Promote love, unity, and interconnectedness.

7. Be a positive influence on our community's physical and mental health
