We are taking the main stage at in three weeks! The Rising Stars will be putting on a show worthy of its host city, Las Vegas, with the Modular Building Institute annual conference. Last year was a bigger and better and we can't wait to up the ante again this year showing off what excites about the next generation joining this game changing industry!

Drum roll, please…

🏆 Brockton Seniors are this year’s Ice Box Challenge national champs!

After city-level competitions across Brooklyn, Cleveland, Brockton, Boston and Charlotte, the winning teams advanced to the ultimate challenge for national bragging rights.

Each team brought creativity, engineering skills and teamwork—but Brockton Seniors stood out above the rest. Led by Adam Ripley, with teammates Havalton and Hector, their ice box proved to be the most thermally efficient and watertight, with the least amount of melted ice. An incredible accomplishment that reflects focus, innovation and collaboration.

Congratulations to our national champions—and to all of our Rising Stars who made this year’s Ice Box Challenge unforgettable 🌟

It’s been a truly incredible year of even more growth, learning and hands-on experiences with our passionate and hardworking Rising Stars. We are so proud of everything they’ve achieved and can’t wait to continue supporting their career journeys in the new year.

… And that’s a wrap!

Last week, we celebrated our incredible Built to Lead mentorship program graduates with a small gathering in Brooklyn to recognize all the hard work they’ve put in over this past year.

Built to Lead is our Brooklyn-based mentorship alliance that supports Rising Stars graduates as they transition into the workforce. For up to a year, students are paired with industry mentors who help them navigate job searches, understand workplace expectations, build confidence and start growing their professional networks—so they don’t have to take those first steps alone.

Through our partnerships with Urban Green Council and RiseBoroNYC, graduates get access to industry mentorship and community-based support. And with Con Edison’s Clean Energy & Tech Careers planning grant, mentors from Urban Green’s professional network guide students through career mapping, skill development and other real-life challenges.

Seeing everyone together last week—from our program graduates to our mentors and staff—was a powerful reminder of just how much can happen when young people feel supported.

We’re thrilled to announce our newest partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston!!!

Together, we’re launching Trade Trailblazers, an eight-week summer internship and career exploration program designed to introduce Boston teens (ages 17–18) to meaningful careers in the skilled trades.

Starting in summer 2026, participants will:

• Explore 4-6 union trades through hands-on technical training
• Earn safety certifications and partake in career readiness workshops
• Select two trades for deeper learning with direct mentorship and credential opportunities

By combining Rising Stars’s industry connections with BGCB’s strong community pipeline, Trade Trailblazers helps students gain early exposure to high-demand careers while helping local contractors and unions build a more diverse, future-ready workforce.

“This new partnership is all about opening more doors for young people,” says David Hutchinson, executive director of the Rising Stars Program. “By teaming up with organizations like BGCB that share our vision, we can provide students with real opportunities to build meaningful careers—and help industries find the skilled workforce they need for the future.”

We can’t wait to see the deep and far-reaching impact that this incredible partnership will have on Boston’s next generation of trade professionals!

Seeing our Rising Stars interact with an industry leader like Dave Marrs and work directly with Nudura's innovative materials was inspiring. This after-school event showed students firsthand that a career in construction is not only attainable but also exciting and impactful.
