New Dorp Lane District provides beautification, events & business support to the neighborhood.

EVENT ALERT: The 8th Annual New Dorp Lane District Car Show is scheduled for Sunday, September 27th, 2026. Founded by The New Dorp Merchants Association, Councilman Steven Matteo and the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) in 2014, the New Dorp Lane District one of New York City's business improvement districts aimed at organizing the business community along New Dorp Lane and to provide them additional services in order to enhance the economic vitality of the corridor.

Happy 4th of July from the New Dorp BID! 🇺🇸 Thank you to the SIEDC, Councilman David Carr, and Richmond Nursery Corp. for helping reinstall our American flags along the Lane. We’re proud to show our community’s patriotism and our gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes.

What an amazing day on the Lane! 🎨✨

This past Friday, we proudly celebrated the Third Annual New Dorp Lane District Art Display Festival — a wonderful showcase of the creativity, talent, and community spirit of our local artists, students, businesses, and neighbors.

A huge thank you to the talented students from Staten Island Technical High School and Monsignor Farrell High School whose artwork transformed storefronts all along New Dorp Lane into a vibrant outdoor gallery!

The day was filled with fun for all ages — from the New Dorp Library photo booth and face painting outside Something Sweet, to live caricature art outside Taste of India. Guests also had the chance to meet manga artist Kxnto, cartoonist Peter Jurado, and cosplayer Starfire, making the celebration even more special!

Special thanks to NYC Councilman David Carr, SIEDC and the New Dorp BID for their generous support in making this event possible, as well as to JHU Comics, Something Sweet, and Taste of India for helping host the festivities throughout the day.

We are excited to welcome this beloved tradition back for another season of creativity, community, and student talent.

From May 1 through May 7, artwork will be displayed throughout New Dorp Lane. Then join us for the official celebration on May 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., including a 3:00 p.m. awards ceremony at JHU Comics, 299 New Dorp Lane, honoring this year’s student winners.

Happy New Year! As we kick off 2026, check out our video recap highlighting all the fun from our 11th Annual Tree Lighting and hear what members of the community had to say. Held last month, the celebration brought hundreds of attendees to the Lane to enjoy the holiday season while supporting the vibrant local businesses and organizations that make our district so special.
