OUR DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAM
Our Disaster Relief Programs works in distress areas to reduce human sufferings and family abandonment including estrangement. I am currently monitoring situation in Pakistan, the militant attacks on the Church and the violent eruption of the earth. It is time to pray as wisdom to deal with this issue is needed. We cannot delay help to the children, poor and needy. The Great House Disaster Relief & Recovery Inc. monitors all media avenues watching for major natural disasters in the United States that have displaced victims from their homes. When we have confirmation of a major natural disaster, we begin calling Our efforts congregations in the area of the disaster, along with other local agencies to find out the extent of the damage. We ask local the churches and community at large if they are willing to receive a truckload of prepackaged, ready to distribute supplies to help those affected by the disaster in their area. If the local church is willing to go to work helping others in the community affected by the disaster, we will send a 53’ trailer full of basic supplies needed by the disaster survivors. Our long-term goal is to bring the lost to Christ, so we hope that relationships can be built with these new neighbors they’re helping, but they maybe have never met. In areas where Our efforts are not located, we contact nearby congregations, to see if they would be willing to work to distribute the supplies we provide in another community.
The Great House Disaster Relief & Recovery stands prepared with a warehouse of supplies, packed, organized, and ready to be loaded on a trailer to have on the road within hours. We do not send or coordinate volunteers to do the work, we only send supplies, and the members of the local church do the work. Initially we send prepacked family food boxes, personal care boxes, infant care boxes, cleaning buckets, along with pallets of bottled water, diapers, laundry detergent, bleach, new clothing and shoes, along with bundles of mops, rakes, shovels, and brooms, and other cleaning supplies. We turn these supplies over to the leadership of the local Our efforts in the disaster area, for them to distribute to all disaster survivors regardless of faith, ethnicity, race, background, the supplies are for all disaster. We are a source of supplies for the local congregation to go to work, doing what the Lord told His church to do.
Later, when people are getting back into their homes or a place to live, we can also help with mattress sets, appliances, and new household furniture. These items ship directly from the manufacturer to the congregation working with victims. The Beds, appliances and furniture are for qualified victims that did not have insurance to cover the items lost, with a family income of $30,000 or less. We limit a family to one room of furniture, one appliance (possibly two), mattress sets to sleep an average family of 4 people. We want to be good stewards of the Lords money we receive from those that support us. We ask local members to visit victims’ homes, to verify the items requested are going to replace like items that were actually lost due to the disaster.
Relief organizations and first-responders are working tirelessly to provide aid to those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The staff at TechSoup Global is keeping all those affected by the devastating hurricane in our thoughts as we work to support recovery efforts. In a statement, the donation would be used only for disaster relief, and kept separate from the church's general operating fund. "The funds will not be used for normal church expenses, nor will the funds be used for cash grants to individuals”. "Any funds not used in this initial relief phase will be used for subsequent efforts to support and/or directly restore and rebuild homes and church facilities impacted by the flood. “Relief organizations and first-responders are working tirelessly to provide aid to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
