🌧️ LCOS FAMILY BBQ CANCELED

Due to the forecast for rain and the possibility of thunderstorms tomorrow, Saturday, August 22, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 LCOS Family BBQ at Cunningham Park.

The safety and comfort of our members, families, guests, and volunteers are our priority. While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to gather tomorrow, we believe this is the best decision given the forecast and the outdoor nature of the event.

🎟️ REGISTERED ATTENDEES

Those who purchased tickets in advance will have the option to receive a full refund or convert their ticket purchase into a donation to LCOS to support our programs, community initiatives, and mission.

Additional instructions will be sent directly to registered attendees.

🎒 OUR SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE WILL CONTINUE!

Due to the BBQ cancellation, we have extended our School Supply Drive through Wednesday, August 26.

📚 If you would like to donate school supplies, please contact the designated collection person in your borough listed on the School Supply Drive flyer to arrange your donation.

Thank you to everyone who registered, volunteered, donated, and helped us prepare for this year’s BBQ. We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support.

We’ll get the LCOS family together again soon—and hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate next time! ☀️💜

💍❤️ Congratulations to the newlyweds!🥂

The Latino Court Officers Society proudly congratulates our former Sergeant at Arms, Retired Captain Steve Vera, and LCOS member Principal Court Clerk Patricia Bruno, on officially tying the knot! 💐

Their love story began 26 years ago, when they first met at a Court Officer Physical Agility Test before either had even joined the job. That meeting marked the beginning of not only two successful careers within the court system, but a beautiful life they would build together.

After 26 years of love, partnership, and memories, Steve and Patricia finally made it official! 💍❤️

A historic milestone for the New York State Unified Court System and the Hispanic & Latino community!

The Hispanic Heritage Month Commemorative Patch has been officially authorized for wear by uniformed personnel September 15 through October 15 in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Designed by Jessica Hernandez, President and Co-Founder of the Latino Court Officers Society (LCOS), the patch symbolizes the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic and Latino community. What began as an idea has become an official Department of Public Safety directive—a lasting symbol of pride, unity, and representation.

This achievement would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of so many individuals who believed in this vision. Thank you to everyone who helped make this moment a reality.

This August, the Latino Court Officers Society proudly joins in celebrating the Independence Days of Bolivia 🇧🇴 (August 6), Ecuador 🇪🇨 (August 10), and Uruguay 🇺🇾 (August 25).

Independence Day is more than a date on the calendar—it is a celebration of resilience, identity, and the generations who fought for the freedom to preserve their culture, traditions, and national pride.

Today, we honor the vibrant contributions of the Bolivian, Ecuadorian, and Uruguayan communities, whose rich histories continue to strengthen and enrich our courts, our neighborhoods, and our society.

To all those celebrating, we wish you a joyful and meaningful Independence Day filled with pride, family, and tradition.

⚾️ A Night of Honor, Fellowship, and Court Family

Last night, the Latino Court Officers Society was proud to join fellow New York State Unified Court System employees, family, and friends for NYS Courts Night at the Brooklyn Cyclones.

The evening began with a moving wreath-laying ceremony honoring our fallen officers and remembering the late Chief of the Academy, Joseph Baccellieri, whose family was in attendance.

The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Michael Baccellieri, followed by a beautiful rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner performed by LCOS President Captain Jessica Hernandez.

During the 7th inning stretch, LCOS had the privilege of recognizing two outstanding members for their dedication and service to our organization:
🏅 Senior Court Officer Elaine Bacci
🏅 Court Officer Fernando Peña

The evening also featured a heartfelt performance of God Bless America by Court Officer Jesse Lewis.

We were honored to be joined by Chief Judge Rowan Wilson and Chief of Public Safety Michael Magliano, making the evening even more special.

It was truly a night filled with camaraderie, fellowship, and pride in our NYS Courts family.

A special thank you to Emerald Society President Frank Sheridan for organizing another outstanding NYS Courts Night. Your hard work brought our court family together for a memorable evening.
