The St. Matthew's Habitat Team spent last Saturday painting the entire interior of the house on Clover Hill Ave. Not only we do this for Habitat, but also in part of our Parish's Day of Service. We had over 92 volunteers participate in various capacities at seven of the agencies we support. What a great day!

A BIG congrats to our Wilton Youth for Habitat for Humanity group. They held their annual car wash yesterday and raised $1,237...record amount! All proceeds go to funding their fifth Habitat home, which broke ground yesterday. Margie & I couldn't be prouder of these kids! They worked as a team throughout the day washing over a 100 cars! GREAT Jobs guys & gals!

The Community Bridgebuilders Coalition began their partnership with Habitat CFC in 2007 to help build our first ever affordable housing project in Stamford, CT. Since the beginning of construction in 2009, a group of local area churches have provided labor and a significant amount of the funding needed to bring several projects to completion. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in this project!

Habitat for Humanity tops Builder 100 list for private US homebuilders!!!

Builder magazine has ranked Habitat for Humanity as the No. 1 private homebuilder on Builder 100, its annual listing of the largest U.S. homebuilders. This is the second year in a row Habitat has been recognized as a top builder of affordable housing in the U.S.

Each year, Builder compiles data from U.S. builders and ranks them by the number of closings for Builder 100. With 3,237 closings in 2015, Habitat topped the private homebuilder list and placed No. 16 on the comprehensive list.

“We are honored to be recognized as the top private homebuilder on this year’s Builder 100,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “This is a wonderful achievement for us and it could not have been accomplished without the support of our donors and volunteers, who help us empower families through shelter in every community we work in throughout the U.S.”

Habitat works in nearly 1,400 communities across the country, helping families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future for themselves through decent and affordable housing. In fiscal year 2015, 9,888 individuals in the U.S. partnered with Habitat to build or improve places they can call home.
